Save me! My s8 has recently developed the shakes that can be felt through the entire car. It typically starts at exactly 71mph and is usually gone by 80.

Tried new wheels, road force balance, replaced worn tie rods, and one drive shaft. Everything's improved it but nothing's eliminated it! It also has some feeling of judder when braking (again, not all the time). It has ceramics so doubt they're warped!

What next to try?

Mine did the same 2008 facelift,MOT station didn't see it, 4wheel drive "Hawk" Geo setup didn't show it up it was the front top wishbone bushes, mine vibrated like the wheels were out, they were not, then bad vibration on braking but not consistent,my bushes were not worn out they were split so were moving front to back not side to side, you can get the bushes and replace them instead of buying the whole wishbone

Thanks! I've ordered them and will give it a try. I'll have a new car soon!

Got an R8 in today with a mystery wobble; eventually traced to warped mating flanges on the front hubs.

I hate finding vibrations frown

Weve had a 09 plate 3ltr tdi Allroad that's had a mystery wobble all it's life, 90k miles and whilst in warranty it's had front hubs and discs front drive shafts another test set of wheels never found it, it comes and goes different drivers different places, weird does it more off throttle from 60 down to 40 than going up!

Check for loose trim panels, heat shields etc. Had a Volvo S40 T4 years ago with a mystery vibration between certain speeds. Nothing seemed amiss, until a plastic inspection panel on the underside was found not to be secured properly properly. It was getting blown back and hitting the CV joint boot and then vibrating against that and fand transferring a vibration through the steering and driveline.

My S8 does the same thing. It was a lot better after I had the rear tyres changed and the alignment checked, but there's still a slight wobble. Once you hit Autobahn speeds (80ish+) for more than a minute, the A8 lowers the ride height automatically by 10mm to improve economy and ride, which seems to sort it out.

Well, 8 new suspension arms at the front seems to have done the trick. VIbration free and tightened it right up. Just ticked over 100K so hopefully ready for another 100K or so.

Glad to hear it's sorted. Hope you didn't have to pull the money out of your own pocket.

Yes, I'm a big boy now smile. Still cheaper than a warranty and the hassle etc!
