Just had some work done on my 2013 SEAT Toledo 1.6tdi, and the start of very slight wear was found in the offside trackrod. Not required at the moment, but to replace it, and re-track, I was quoted £460, main dealer. Now I seem to remember my previous Leon had a wheel bearing replaced, and that seemed to entail the hub as well, so I thought that maybe the trackrod was part of the steering rack/arm, but I seem to have found one, looking just like any old trackrod, for around £25. Any thoughts on this price, am I missing something ? It'll be the same set up as the Skoda Rapid too.

At a pure guess, the dealer is quoting to replace the entire rack, rather than one trackrod and rod end.

Give the job to a Local Garage.
