Golf MKIV / Bora - any common electrical issues?

I have a '99 Bora V5 that appears to have a few electrical gremlins.

When on intermittent, the wipers will randomly switch to constantly wiping the screen, no matter what interval is set in the stalk.

Also - the blower works randomly, and (this is really odd) will speed up when turning right (and only right)...

I'm aware of brush issues with the blower motor, and I'm also aware of issues with the speed control (I have electronic climate control).

Finally, the car will randomly not start - it will crank repeatedly for 10 secs or so but not start. But then will start immediately after simply turning the key and on again,

I have read codes previously (yet to read them again but will put results here once I know..).

If anybody can offer any insight to these odd issues I would be grateful.

A polite bump and diagnostics reveal camshaft sensor "short to ground or positive".

So I guess I need a new one of those then.
