All,

Appreciate any ideas you might have!

Just bought an 07 A8 3.0 tdi Quattro with only 58k miles.

At motorway speeds there's a droning sound and vibration coming from the back left - no vibration through the steering wheel but it makes a racket!

Also on a few occasions over the last week after enthusiastic driving sometimes the car seems to slip into some sort of limp home mode - restricts revs to about 2,800 but has no pulling power either - if you put it in neutral it will rev freely but back in drive back as it was. Stopping and switching engine off for a minute and then back on seems to sort it but obviously something is wrong.

Anyone got any ideas? It's worrying me and I've only had the car 10 days. I'm worried its had a hard life and if I should reject the car back to the dealer.

Any help much appreciated guys.

Mike

I would book it into a main dealer (some are better than others with A8s try to get recommendations if you can) Pay for the diagnostic and then discuss with you're supplying dealer.
