Morning all, my Audi has just come out of routine service and they've identified that all 4 discs are pitted/corroded and have quoted circa £2.6k to replace them all. No issues with advice per see but 2 questions;
Does anyone know any good indys in Surrey who could do it cheaper
Might it be possible to skim the discs or make them 'useable' .
Car only gets used at weekends so managing costs always helpful
Thanks in advance

Not sure on skimming though it might be possible if they aren't that worn. Another option would be to buy the parts online and I'm pretty sure any half decent mechanic could do a pads and disc swap. You should be able to get a full set of OE pads and discs for around £1500. Try PW Motorsport.

Same thing happened to me last week but only the rears, again went in for standard service.

£1100 (ex VAT) for the rear discs, pads and handbrake pads. I couldn't find anywhere else that could supply the discs in my local area or online so would be interested to see if anyone else can suggest suppliers.

If the thickness is OK speak with Marcus of http://www.discskimmers.com/

He is mobile and very experienced with these. His work is first rate.

Definitely worth making sure the discs actually need replacing and this isn't just a main dealer trying it on...

I use Daniel Elmer who is an indy and a fully qualified R8 technician.He used to work at Walton on Thames Audi and also Autofficina but now owns and runs R3 which is based in Chessington.
Get your Audi dealer price then get his.You will not be disappointed.
I only use Audi main dealer for service stamp.For anything else i use Dan.

What year and engine?

If you've got PR code 1LA and 2ED then my generic search suggests 365x34mm front discs @ £287 each RRP. Pads are £342 redface

Rears 356x32mm @ £326 each! Pads £229

Handbrake pads £115

Can supply part numbers if you want to shop around assuming they do end up needing replacement. Hopefully not at those prices!
