Hi folks,

I have a 2002 Audi Allroad (full story here: http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a... which has recently undergone a series of repairs to the front suspension, which had been creaking, knocking and rattling for some time.

When I first bought the car around a year ago it was really solid and comfortable but in recent months I've experienced some wayward steering, a squeal from the rack, the aforementioned rattles so I sourced some TRW parts to replace all upper and lower front arms, using Tuning Werkes and Swift Tuning to carry out fitting and checks.

Since getting the car back and swapping wheels over, I've noticed a metallic screeching from both the OSF and NSF, coupled with a vibration that seems to start at around 1,500rpm and gets considerably worse throughout the rev-range, meaning it's currently unsafe to drive anywhere past 60mph. The sound is similar to that of a set of scissors being open and closed, and this gets faster as the cars speed does. I've swapped back to the original wheels and the problem has persisted so I've ruled out balancing / tyres etc, and as I've had my arms done I'm also ruling them out as a suspect.

I took the car back to Tuning Werkes yesterday and Reuben suggested the cause could be any of the following:

- Hubs / axles
- Wheel bearings
- Gearbox / engine mounts
- Other suspension components
- Steering column
- Alignment

I personally feel it could be any combination of the above, or something else entirely.

Essentially my request is two-fold:

1) Does anyone have any experience of the symptoms mentioned above, and / or know any possible causes?
2) Can anyone recommend me a garage (specialist / dealer / independent) local to Kingston or Epsom that I can try?

Thanks in advance, really hoping to get this sorted soon as I've already spend the best part of a grand and the ride is worse if anything!
