Been googling for a while and having no joy. My A8's dash is alight with every warning under the sun - TPMS fault, ESP fault, parking break malfunction, air suspension malfunction etc. it's also not pulling, it's hard to get it past 40mph, very juddery when driving. Sometimes it won't let me put it in reverse.

Hoping my car had written itself off! Any ideas anybody? (Somebody? Please?)

What engine and gearbox is a good starting point... is it a D3 or D4?

Thanks for the reply. Ah, of course sorry. It's a 3.0 diesel. 2011 model , which makes it a D4(?)

If you want to avoid main dealer charges id suggest your first thing is to try a local VW/Audi specialist and get the faults read with VAGCOM to see if that gives any clues. Alternatively do you have a good local main dealer? With it being an A8 they may be inclined to look at it as a goodwill gesture with it not far out of warranty. It sounds like the engine has gone into limp mode.

Thanks Cupra. Obviously taking it to a dealer or independent is on the list of next actions. Was hoping people may have seen this so that I couid go in a little wiser or maybe even fix it quickly if it's something simple like a duff battery.

I had very similar on my old Volvo V60. Every warning light under the sun, wouldn't release the handbrake. Removing the negative lead on the battery cleared it for a bit then it came back 200 miles later whilst driving.

Turned out to be a frayed wire in the loom behind the A pillar, which was corrupting the CANBUS data and triggering spurious faults. Finding the damaged wire took the dealer 2 weeks so I'd not want to be paying labour for it if that's the cause on yours...

Volksmaster have two branches. One in Oldham and one in Bury. Very well respected VW and Audi specialist. If you go to the Oldham one, ask for Lisa or Mike and tell them Andy Vo with the black S6 / black Porsche sent you.
