Clean

Not so clean
These are companies which can retrofit the 2012 facelift taillights onto your car, a must do mod IMO, takes years off it

The leather is like the darker image in the flesh and I really like the dark blue which sometimes looks black and sometimes looks purple.
Not normally my cup of tea, but that is lovely

This thread has some gorgeous cars which keeps me occupied browsing through. I washed mine today and took some photos. I've had it for 5 months and really like it. R8 V8.

Hi, what rear spoiler is it ? How did you disable original, is it just a fuse pull ?
It's from German Rush in the usa. I bought it pre-Christmas when they had a massive deal on their site prices. The tilting spoiler is disabled using by vagcom. I bought the non-carbon fibre (GRP / fibreglass) and had it painted locally to me after delivery.

www.germanrush.com

The owner is a good person to deal with. He is a site sponsor and posts regularly on R8talk.com

a few basic service items and I was there for nigh on 8 hours.
Love the car but that's me done with main dealers.
Anyhoo, a few pics....
What did they miss and did they not know you were waiting! eek

Non-standard sump-plug (never in stock), oil re-fill time for the dry sump and moving the fuse box to do pollen filter?

He said "interim" so lets assume no to plugs, air filters and no mention of pollen.

A Dealer SHOULD have the 5 plugs and washers available. Assume it goes in at 10am. Hour after customer drops it off as awaiting job. Should be done inside 3 hours!

Coolant not topped up, hand brake not adjusted (Even though I asked ?), alternator belt sometimes squeals on start up if wet and cold (not touched so I replaced it, even though I asked again ?) and car not even cleaned. Was truly annoyed to be there that long, and although they were polite and very prompt with coffee etc, I had better things to do for 8 hours.
Last time I sat in an Audi dealer for any length of time, I was amazed by how badly they interact with potential customers. A decent double glazing or vacuum cleaner salesman could sell cars better then the guys in the dealer I went to. Customers came in who genuinely looked interested in cars, and only got offered a coffee from the poor girl on reception who couldn't get a salesperson to speak with them as they were all faffing about in an office. Saw a guy ask a simple question as to whether a Q5 could come with a sunroof and salesman didn't know the answer or even go ask someone, he just said "I'm not sure' and left them to look around
Surprised that company sells any of it's bread and butter cars at all.
In saying that, the guy I use to buy all the new ones I've bought is very good, but he only deals in RS/S cars

I drove past a salesman in the Audi carpark in London, he saw me park in an R8, I parked my car, walked straight past him to have a sit in the new R8, which screams Im here for a potential upgrade and he just said give me a shout if you have any questions! The world's easiest slam dunk of a sale and he didn't even pay any attention! I sat in the car incidentally and found the roof line very low compared to my old R8. Not sure if it is the lower seat height in the mk1 R8 or lower roof lining in the mk2. I just didn't fit comfortably, shame its a stunning car.

At 6'1 I've found the opposite tbh! laugh

Can normally get a decent ish position after some faffing, but find Mk2 easier to get to that point than Mk1.

Rich that convinces me that some nutter at Aston was right a few years back when he said to me I have a tall top half and a dodgy quiff! Shame as I would have loved to upgraded to the mk2. The noise and display are fantastic.

Jeez, that sounds like my weekend experience. Park my 911 GTS outside the dealership's front window, walk straight in and sit in the R8. I've owned V8+V10 R8s. Not one person came over, I just got the usual look up and down (was scruffy at the time).

Just remembered there are at least 2 maybe 3 difernet seats available. So depending on what the car you had was fitted with may make a difference.

With you on the noise though. In Sport mode (flaps open) it's really rather good biggrin

It's crazy, I'm really surprised they sell any cars at all
A couple of weeks back, I walked into Dick Lovett ferrari/maser dealer in Swindon, having pulled up in my 14 plated RS4, which isn't the highest value car in the world compared to what they're selling, and the lady welcomes me in through the door and offers me a coffee. Within about 5 minutes, a salesman comes up to me very politely and asks if there's anything I'm interested in looking at or going through details with. The chap was courteous without seeming overpowering, and knew the answer to any questions I had on the cars without hesitation.
I appreciate they're dealing with a different market, but surely when you're at Audi and your salary is hugely weighted towards sales bonuses, you'd be on every person that walked through the door trying to see if they're buying or not or at least making them feel valued !
Perhaps I'm wasted in my current job and could make a killing in car sales by being attentive to people and not just ignoring them

Just to get this thread back on track, here's a pic of my RS4. Sorry about my motorbike in the way, but it's pretty much an Audi product anyway as Audi own Ducati smile

My B7 RS4 in Daytona Grey.
Had it over 3 years now and keep toying with selling it, but can't find anything as good for the money!
Brilliant motor, especially with the Milltek exhaust and KW V3 suspension. smile
