Is there a 'running in' period? eg a number of miles recommended at restricted revs etc? Thanks
Different dealers will tell you different things
The handbook has a defined number of miles at different rev limits, but this is a generic one for all Audi's
When I picked up my current RS4 from the dealer, they told me to drive it how I like straight away, whereas previous dealers have told me to take it steady for the first couple of hundred miles
Audi RS engines are 'run in' on an engine dyno in the factory, so your initial period is more for bedding in any mechanical parts

I am finally stopping the procastinating this week and ordering an RS6! I used CarWow to get an idea of potential discount (14% with finance from Audi Maidstone) and am taking that to my local dealer to get matched.

They are going to do the figures on the new RS6 Performance. £7k seems a hell of a lot for a remap, but they have suggested that the better retained value may mean that - in reality - it will cost barely anymore.

Has anyone ordered a Performance yet? I understand first deliveries are Feb, but i will wait for the new registration.

Carwow were good and my local dealer matched them. My carwow dealer would move a little with free roof bars ! but I had already done the deal locally.

Gone for standard RS6 as im paying enough as it is !!

Good effort biggrinhehe

£7k is a lot for a remap, but you're also getting the 21" wheels (£2k) and sports exhaust (£1k) together with the blue stitched seats and blue inlays on the carbon wink I'm not convinced of the better retained value argument, it could be true, but it sounds like sales patter to me.

Enjoy the ordering process - the next couple of months may be the slowest to pass on record hehe

ordered mine on the 16.11.15 - its now built and in Transit in Germany to the port. Could take from 1 week to 4 weeks I understand.

Hope it will be with me by mid Jan which will be 2 months but if its 16 Feb then will have taken 3 months.

I'm currently weighing up an RS6 as a possible next car. What options would people consider must haves and highly preferred??

Thanks

Thanks - picking mine up on Friday afternoon, then driving from Harrogate to Edinburgh to see if it works properly...

They come well specced as standard but, depending in the colour, I would definitely go black pack and red callipers plus:

Sports exhaust and DRC are musts IMO.
Parking pack with overhead view is superb if you park in tight places a lot (gives bird's eye view).
No strong views on the rest.
20 inch (standard wheels) are much lighter and give marginally better ride. I prefer them looks wise too (they look much better in the flesh than pics thanks to pronounced dish). But others prefer 21s - take your pick.

They are brilliant cars and much better drive than than the previous model - though that V10 was great!

Nice - only one more sleep... way more exciting than Christmas!

I suspect you'll enjoy the drive up. I'm picking mine up in Crawley (outside Gatwick) and driving it up to Glasgow in March just to make sure it works properly hehe

Enjoy your new car and post some photos - will help whilst the rest of us wait for our toys to arrive biggrin

I asked an Audi salesman this question last weekend ( I am test driving an RS6 this weekend !)

He reckoned Sports Exhaust, Sunroof and 21's were the must have's but the DRC seems very, very popular on used cars so I'd agree on that.

If I do go for a new one I'll be getting one the the special order paints at £1500 I think to have an unusual colour that's money well spent in the context of a £70k plus car. I have been told delivery before the end of March if I order in the next week. A month more for the special paint.

Decided to fit in some screens to the rear seats, including a 6 disc changer to the boot and interface to the front screen for vision.
The front screen has only been setup for ease of setting up the rear screens prior to driving off, as the little ones are too small to give clear instructions.
Not a bad install if anyone needs this done

Looks like a nice tidy install thumbup

My kids are now old enough to use their iPads / phones so they're more interested in the Wi-Fi hub capabilities of the car hehe

My car is now in Quality Control... just as well I didn't ask yesterday if I could change the spec! I don't know if I'll be able to wait until March to get my hands on it - I suspect it will arrive a lot sooner than planned biggrin

Had a look round a new RS6 on Saturday at Coulsdon Audi - currently sat in the showroom. Really liked it, but the Mrs clocked the £92k price tag and balked somewhat lol

Spec was pretty high on it - special order paint, 21s, HUD, pano roof etc

Suspect a C6 is more realistic for us until the C7 is 3-4 years old

There was one in Chelmsford Audi Centre a few months ago with a very high spec. It was around the £100k mark.

As it is a physical car, ready to drive away, expect no discounts.

Perfect for a lotto win - instant gratification.

80% residual value after 3 years. Very few other cars come within 20% of that.
