mine is comming up to 3 years old, I might let it go for the right price.;) oh, yes, it has a towbar.
Only had my C6 for a year. I promised myself I'd hold off at least 3 years before swapping it.

Sadly a £66k new car now would be worth a lot less than £55k in 3 years i fear, c.£45k?
I didn't make my point very well smile I'd think even £45K could be a little optimistic.

I didnt understand your other post. I get what you mean.

I am struggling to see how a base RS6 will be worth 45k in 3 years. I think it will be more likely to be at 50k?

Value is what you can sell it for. The July '13 car with 17K Miles has a trade-in from Audi of £47K. In five month's time that will be well below 45K, and that's a low mileage car.
Yes, private sale values may be higher, but I'd bet £45K private car sales aren't common or easy.

Okay, understood.

Not many RS6 being sold privately though.

Well i guess i am a dream buyer for some of you guys as i'm the idiot who has gone for a well optioned car! The days are going to drag until i finally receive the car in late April for sure.

Like others, the huge depreciation meant i was drawn to the second hand market initially but i am super fussy with spec and after deciding it must be a 2015 car (for the new lights!) then it was frankly cheaper to buy a brand new car. I used CarWow to get my dealer to play ball and give a £14k discount, which was needed when the car was about £115k on the configurator!

Thanks. Finance opens up a lot of possibility and i am happy to reciprocate if someone is prepared to offer a man-child like me money!

I have gone for a pearlescent black 'Performance' edition. This comes with remapped engine and gearbox settings, blue stitching for the interior and blue a weave to the carbon inlays. You get the sports exhaust as standard and i believe privacy glass too. I think this adds about £7k on top of a 'normal' RS6.

Frustratingly, you can't spec the black styling pack with black paint. I therefore got bent over for the closest alternative - carbon styling pack although i passed on the £1,500 carbon mirrors (i park on the street so considered taht unwise).

The biggest call was the astronomical price for the carbon brakes, but i have gone for that. Other than the very fancy stereo, i've ticked virtually every other option from pan roof to power closing doors, but have purposefully avoided the advanced key as i understand this causes security issues (i had my last Audi stolen, so a bit paranoid!).

I test drove an RS6 just after Christmas and it was just how i imagined. Due to the stolen car, i have been driving borrowed diesel Golf for the past 3 months so am absolutely desperate to get hold of the RS6's keys in April!

Sounds epic! cloud9

I pick up my 'standard' Sepang Blue, black pack, 21" black alloys, pan roof, HUD, privacy glass (+ a few other bits and bobs) in a little less than 2 weeks. I decided *not* to tick the box on the £6500 B&O stereo too. Like you I've been driving around in a Golf for the last 3 months (although a 1.4 TSi - feel the POWER!!) and can't wait to finally drive the RS6. I had shoulder surgery in November so I haven't even test driven the RS6 yet. I'm looking forward to the long drive home from the dealer on the 5th March biggrin

Really interesting thread guys, thanks for the input.

How have you convinced your inner sensible-ness that it was the right thing to do? I want one, really badly. With a little man maths I could probably afford it, but it would be a big commitment and a little bit stupid to use as on a 20 mile motorway commute every day... The other side of the coin is that we're here for good time, not a long time, and you might as well do what you want whilst you have the chance...

So, tell me it's a good idea idea

Last year was a bit of a rollercoaster in our family... few of my nearest and dearest were very ill but thankfully now much better. Life is short. Buy the damned car biggrin
p.s. my daily commute is 13 miles each way - but they'll be 26 miles a day with me grinning wink

Facelift car was imperative to me too - and right spec. But mine only retailed at 87k - 75k after discount.
You must have ticked pretty well every box smile

About time! If you are a lady or gent in the market for an RS6 would you A) Spec one to 85k pay 72k at 5% Apr and have a brand new never used car or.......B) spend 57k on a 20k mileage 3 year multiple owner car not in your ideal spec with Apr of 12%......hmmmmmmm

All the 57/58k 13 plate cars seem like a bad choice....only in my opinion of course :-)

Glad to hear things better and wholeheartedly agree with your sentiment. I have looked after too many people who died wishing they had not procrastinated so much during their lives.

I bought my car after oohing and ahhing over various RS6 incarnations. I dropped by our local dealer and he had my exact dream spec unregistered sitting in the showroom. I told him that it was my dream car and he said " why not buy it then". I replied: "F*%k it, I will."
Never looked back.

Hahahah - brilliant. I LOVE this!!! hehebow I once went out for a pint of milk and a loaf of bread and ended up buying a Golf VR6!! Always better to regret some of the things you did than those you didn't! Hope you are still enjoying your dream car - I'm looking forward to picking mine up on Saturday biggrin

no wonder I have a missed call from B-ham Audi lol

It's not a bad specced car if someone's looking for one, a little creak on the DRC (Front left) but think that was probably it sat stationary for a while...especially at the original price;)
