Plus you can pick a set of 21s up quite easily on eBay.
Here is a set for £1395 before haggling.

Good idea about the standard wheels i could keep them and put a set of winter tyres on then find some of those lovely black 21" for summer use.

Guys could you tell me if the Dynamic Pack removes the air suspension as i cant seem to find out on the configurator.

I will be going for aftermarket wheels not Audi spec ones. Want something a bit different. Will prob keep my 20" wheels for resale.

on saying that 3.5kg lighter per corner is a big saving. Lowering the car (apparently 5 min job with VCDS) the 20" wheels might be enough.

There is a Sepang Blue on black 21s that is often in the marina car park at Hamble. It looks the nuts on those wheels.

That said, Essex Audi had a black RS in with full black pack and on silver 20s (same style wheel as the 21s) and that also looked fabulous.

It was seeing these wheels that steered me away from Rotors on my BiTDi.

Still need 4 x tyres with them so that's going to be a £2k+ spend.

For anyone interested, I have a Milltek catback for sale. These are expensive new at £1800 but I can do it quite a bit cheaper than that (<1000mile use). Listed on eBay too.

Here is mine in Sepang, stunning colour, pics below show the different shades in different lights...

Sepang with black pack, privacy, mirrors and 21 high gloss black. I think it would go very well on the Misano red car too.

Yep, absolutely beautiful and aggressive at the same time! Looks bloody fantastic - hope you don't mind that I've copied your spec... they do say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. hehe

I took the opposite approach. I went for 20" wheels as £2k extra for bigger wheels is daft. I will buy aftermarket wheels for around that same price and still have the 20" to sell if I feel like it or put back on the car and sell the aftermarket ones. Either way I am not giving audi £2k for 1" lol

I spec'd up my m5 and lost a load of cash. not done much on the RS it comes well spec'd anyway
Curious as to how?. The F10 M5 comes higher spec'd than the C7 RS6 as standard, unless something has changed in the last few weeks. What did you spec on the M5 that comes as standard on the RS6?

Right, the RS6 doesnt even have a leather dash top which i think is a little poor at this price .
Even alcantara head linning is a 2k option!!!!!!!!!

The M5 spec is pretty damned good in standard form, although there are a few things you could add...

e.g. you could pay £460 for piano black trim (std on RS6)
hk sound at £510 similar to Bose
powered boot lid at £430
split folding rear seats at £335
multi function m-sport seats at £875
or the adaptive LED headlights at £1495

A lot of the other options are similarly priced to those on the RS6.

The 0% finance deals on the M5 are also pretty attractive and the current finance / dealer contributions come close to £10k discount. I specced one up and it was about £5k cheaper than the RS6 (before any discounts were applied) but for me, the fact the RS6 is an estate, has 4-wheel drive and looks like the mutt's nuts were the deciding factors! My brother in law has a F10 M5 (his second after the first was replaced on warranty with engine problems) and it is a stunning car.

my car was built this week, and will be ready for collection at delaer in December. Having said that, I'm away a bit in Dec, and for the sake of a week's use, I'm planning to resist the temptation and register it in 2016.

Will be on 21s, but thinking about ordering the 20" wheels with winter tyres through Euro dealer on eBay. £2k all in with tyres. Audi UK wanted 3.5k...

Could you post up the details of the ebay link or the dealer? Thinking of doing exactly this myself.

One question I've got with swapping rims is how do you deal with the TPMS sensors, are they not coded to the car?

As for the underlying question of 20's vs 21's, when we took delivery of ours I didn't really like the 21's but the 20's have a great dished look. The new 21's on the performance version look stunning though, would go for those in a heart-beat...

Cheers,

Phil
