One question I've got with swapping rims is how do you deal with the TPMS sensors, are they not coded to the car?
They're just radio frequency broadcast sensors in the wheels so you could either swap them around from set to set, or buy another set of 4. They're almost £100 each though RRP but are easily over-torqued so I'd be tempted even at that price if you were running 2 sets. You need a new set of retaining bolts and a sub-10Nm torque wrench to install them without breaking them

There's 2 types depending on whether you have PR code 7K3 or 7K4 for the different frequencies. You might be able to get them cheaper from a wheel supplier. I can post part numbers if it helps?

Could you post up the details of the ebay link or the dealer? Thinking of doing exactly this myself.

As for the underlying question of 20's vs 21's, when we took delivery of ours I didn't really like the 21's but the 20's have a great dished look. The new 21's on the performance version look stunning though, would go for those in a heart-beat...

Cheers,

Phil
It was the dished look on the 20s (new for the C7) that did it for me too.
TPMS just plug and play (if Audi at least).

Curious as to how?. The F10 M5 comes higher spec'd than the C7 RS6 as standard, unless something has changed in the last few weeks. What did you spec on the M5 that comes as standard on the RS6?
That's not what I meant. I more or less went basic on the RS as the stuff I put on the M5 was just a waste of money when selling and given I seem to change my car every 5 mins I did not want a big spec and cost for someone else to enjoy lol.

there is enough stuff on the RS to keep me happy.

I'm assuming official Audi winter tyre set would come with them but local dealer seems to be struggling to confirm this.

Thanks for the offer of the parts code, will see how the official tyres go first - it's actually for our 4M Q7.

Cheers,

Phil

Understood. That makes sense.

Checked out the RS6 closely before getting the M5 & to align the basic spec of the RS to the base spec of the M5 I'd have needed to spend well over £5k on the Audi, that's why I was confused.

Not now thought the face lift has more kit. LED lights are free etc. BM lights are a joke. but then BM heads up is free, Audi is expensive.

My spare set came with them, and centre caps. Ridiculous not to.

I pulled the trigger on mine yesterday too hehe

Pretty much identical spec. Went through orangewheels.co.uk who put me in touch with an Audi dealer down south - should be a nice drive home in March!!!

Any sensible PCP deals? When I got my F10LCI M5, I struggled to get any sort of test drive and all PCP deals wanted around £30k deposit, compared to M5 and E63 which was both around £7K

Given my M5 is due back next year I need to start to look at options again

thanks gents and well done DRgav as well. Im getting mine via Brighton be funny if yours was the same?

got 15.1% off via carwow -£13096 ish off. which put me in contact with 2 dealers offering the same rate one was 102 miles and the other was 40 miles away. Test drove a RS6 at my local dealer started negotiations with him and told him about the best pcp finance quote I had and asked if he could match which he could - so job done with my local dealer.

I will put in £25k deposit with dealer putting in £7k and also reducing the car value down by £6k something to give the 15.1% discount of £13093 discount. Have a final payment of £36622 in 30 months (my BMW will sell close to this) and £574 pm for 30 months.

Very happy with the deal - and cant wait for the car now. Didnt try a car broker so there may be a better deal im not sure.

Sounds like a good deal. Brighton seem to be upping their game. I'm local, but bought my last A6 from Coulsdon and my current S4 from Salisbury as Brighton couldn't get close. It's a shame as they seem like a good bunch - I'm really hoping for some interesting end of line deals on the RS6 in 18-24 months or so when I will be in the position to upgrade again. Did an RS day through Brighton Audi in the summer and loved the RS6. I drove one on 20's with the standard suspension and no sports exhaust. The noise was the only disappointment for me, but then I'd just stepped out of an rs3 with the sports exhaust which just sounds fantastic.

Yes wasnt expecting them to be able to match but out of fairness to them I wanted to ask - so pleased they could match. Agree got on well with them. Although was looking forward to a decent drive home in a new car the 100 odd miles would have been fun. it always it when getting a new car the very first drive home. Just a 30 min ride now. frownsmile

Does the RS6 have Matrix LEDs as standard?

If not, it would be the first option I would add. They are incredible.

Hi superlightr

I'm going for the standard air suspension, Leo-RS said it was good and that has been mirrored by every review I've read online (and I'm pretty sure I've read them all!).

Good your local dealer matched the quote. My local dealer up here would only go to 8% (including finance) - managed to get 15.2% through Orangewheels and will enjoy the 429 mile journey home in the new toy - I expect we'll have bonded by the time I get back hehe
