2013 Alhambra locking / alarm - Anyone got one of these cars

The family bus is a 2013 Alhambra. Since I got it, it does some odd things.
Its top spec so it has electric sliding doors and tailgate.
It appears that the alarm sets and the two front doors lock when I still have both sliding doors and tailgate wide open.
I would have thought if you have anything open the alarm would mot set. Is this normal functioning ?
What has happened in the past is one of the kids has left a sliding door open and I have pressed the button on the fob and the car has locked up so I haven't noticed an open door, so its been left wide open overnight !
I would really like to press a button and everything just shuts and locks !
