Help Audi A8 4.2tdi hesitancy, missfire when cold

I have an immaculate and well maintained Audi A8 4.2 TDi. 2007.
It's done 112,000 miles. When cold the first 10 mins of a journey it has developed, when driving gently as slight hesitance, at about 1200 rpm on a light throttle. I have had the glow plugs changed. There are no error codes on diagnostic. When warmed up no problem. I do a lot of city driving journeys.
Any suggestions?
