Insane S8 Lease Deals!!
Discussion
Thanks both - glad you're enjoying them. PenelopaPitstop - don't know which side of Coulsdon you're on, but I can highly recommend Jack Barclay Audi Service in Southfields (Wandsworth), but once your car's there you may find it a bit out-of-the-way, unless you intend to be in London for the day.
I've been using them for five years - and it's usually the only place I see S8s!

Had mine for 6 months now. I like it more than the F10 M5 it replaced, which is saying something. Doesn't feel quite as feral, but I'm of the view that big luxury cars should not behave like rabid animals. Having never owned an Audi before, I'm of the view that the interior is one of the finest I've sat in. A recent 7-8 hour journey was a pleasure. And 25+mpg on the motorway!
Big downside: multi-story carparks. Watch out for those tight turns with high kerbs either side. I scraped a back wheel knowing there was a high kerb and knowing that I had to make as wide a turn as possible.

I'm on the other side of Coulsdon so Wandsworth is a no go for me, I avoid London like a plague. Epsom is an option too, as it could be on my way to work if I go through the town instead of M25. I've been using them for five years - and it's usually the only place I see S8s!
I don't think I will be going for service soon as I spread mileage between two cars and will be away too. So it's possible that it will take me another few months to clock 5K miles to next oil service.
Regarding mpg, I get up to 29mpg when driving 120-130km through Belgium, Holland, etc. Commute on M25 and around results in 22-26mpg, depending on traffic. Data from full to full, not computer.

Just to let you know, that after a week from my request, I received email from VWFS with price of extra 10K miles. As written before by Golf R brigade, miles are half price, comparing to standard excess fee.
£481 for 10K miles + £60 fee for a change of contract. Total £541.92 which is almost half comparing to standard fee for 10K miles at £1080.
I took deal with 5K miles per annum and assumed I will pay another £1080 later in excess. Saving of £500 is even better. I may clock another 10K if they are selling miles that cheap :-)

pretty good result really, and not the sort of thing i'd have expected they'd do£481 for 10K miles + £60 fee for a change of contract. Total £541.92 which is almost half comparing to standard fee for 10K miles at £1080.

Just in case anyone is looking for tyres....
I ordered Pirelli's on Wednesday from Oponeo and they arrived yesterday - £192 per tyre worked out well. Unfortunately I didn't take the maintenance and tyre options.
Do you need to change your tyres already? At what mileage? I hope to do 20K miles on factory fitted tyres. I ordered Pirelli's on Wednesday from Oponeo and they arrived yesterday - £192 per tyre worked out well. Unfortunately I didn't take the maintenance and tyre options.

Unfortunately yes. The fronts are very low and hoping the rears will be fine. However will change them if they lose much more or if it gets much colder. Better safe than sorry I suppose.I used Swindon and can highly recommend them...and the coffee ! Was around £355 for the 10k inspection.

Had my first experience with Audi service and wasn't impressed. Last November when it became cold, wind noise from driver door started. First time, I thought I didn't close the door properly but it wasn't it. One of the sills must have changed the shape in lower temperature. Finally went to Audi in March to sort it out and they just couldn't hear it. Got different A8 from forecourt to try and it was even nosier. Based on this, it was decided that my car is fine.
I'm glad I didn't pay a lot for this car and it's not mine, because I would be really annoyed. I was considering extending lease for another year, but I'm not so sure about it now. Also was disappointed that offered courtesy car was A3 manual diesel, I don't know why, but I expected something a bit better when bringing limousine for repair. And there was £15 fee to pay to void £1000 excess on insurance. I was told that excess is chargeable even if it's not my fault.
There was some software recall on a car, but I decided I'm not going to pay £15 to drive crappy car so they can update the software. In the end, I wasted about 2 hours in dealership and achieved nothing. I chose Crawley as it's by motorway, so thought it will be better for them to test drive the car and check the noise. I will try Coulsdon for service in 3K miles, no need for courtesy car from them.

Similar experience. I wasn't massively impressed with the way my "is the windscreen steaming up a real problem or not" enquiry... the people on the phone just wanted to book me in rather than give me some guidance, even if i rang the dealership instead of the "bookings line" i.e. call centre numpts. In the end I just drove to the dealership and was treated really well by a competent and informative service adviser (why the fk are they not available to speak to on the phone??). Also the online booking system seemed to suggest (even though it knew i had a car in warranty) that I was going to get charged a £60 "diagnosis fee"... it was later explained to me by the adviser that this is only for older cars, but it really isn't clear through the other channels, and if the only answer is to book it in, and you will get charged then clearly we all started off on the wrong foot somewhat.
Obviously they couldn't find a fault and i now have to give them the bd car for a long weekend whilst i am in france. They actually wanted it for longer. I knew this would happen as it always does for water ingress type things.
I used to be the type of guy to always go to the dealer within a few weeks with a long list of small niggles. Now I don't really want them touching it. Having had cars damaged under the 'care' of these people has made me more inclined to live with stuff unless it's actually broken. The whole thing does make me fume though.
The new thing for me was that the S8 at £82k is an entirely new price bracket of car than i have ever had before. The closest i had come before that was maybe something worth £50k new. Stupid me thought that i might see a really noticeable difference in build quality, materials and experience at the dealer!! i think you need to go a few strata upwards in cost for that...

Anyone know what sort of s8 deals are on offer at the moment? I'm off to my local dealer on Monday to discuss so a bit of research before hand is probably wise....
6+23 @559 + Vat from Stable. https://www.stablevehiclecontracts.co.uk/audi-s8-l...
About 23% of £84K ROTR price.so definitely "good", but a long way off "insane"...
