Just a heads up that Audi are running a Q1 campaign on S8's that's actually cheaper than the crazy deals available 2yrs ago on M5's & E63's.

Without any haggling was offered a 6x23 with 8k miles per annum at £479 plus vat. For 13k miles per annum it rose to £511 plus vat. Not bad for an £83k car as that's around £15k over 2yrs & the car will depreciate at least double that figure over the same time.

Any chance of forwarding me details of where to get these deals?

Thanks

Have you driven an S8 ? I was about to pull the trigger on an RS6 but it would be rude not to explore this!

I was offered the deal by Preston Audi. Shirley Johnston is my contact there.

I've not driven the S8 in D4 variant, only the previous incarnations, however i had a 3.0Tdi D4 for 18mths & that was a great car.

On paper the D4 S8 is .2secs slower to 62 than the C7 RS6 & that's with less power & torque (don't forget it's the same engine in both cars, just detuned by about 40bhp in the S8). The S8 is also only 40kgs heavier than the C7 RS6.

Simple man maths (to me) says the S8 although not quite an RS6 is certainly able to hold it's own performance wise, is the more luxurious of the 2 & is being offered for half the physical outlay of the RS6, yet it's OTR cost is nearly £10k higher.

That is a seriously good deal. I went into my local Audi dealer this weekend to enquire about a biturbo diesel A6. They seemed rather fixated on PCP rather than contract hire and have yet to quote me. Is the offer you mentioned available across the network or specific to one dealer?

OrangeWheels offer discount of £20,938 so realistic price of S8 is arund 60K. I would haggle, because this offer is a few K worse than one in summer.

RS6 vs S8:
-S8 is discreet without all the noise and visibility
-S8 is not that popular with thieves and it's rather rare sight
Otherwise two totaly different cars.

Really? You've seen better lease deals on these cars? I'm amazed at how low the outlay is as these are better than the mad deals on the F10 M5 & E63 from 2yrs ago. They were at their lowest £499 plus vat per month at 8k miles per annum & these cars have a £10k higher list price.

Yeah, there were S8 deals significantly cheaper than that. Not to say it's not still a good deal, but I remember prices in the high 300s three or four months ago.

A copy from the lease thread dated July 2015.as can be seen a far better deal 6 months ago but still decent. I believe it was something like 6/379 plus vat albeit 5k pa

Havana Black with Velvet Beige interior. Added to it heated steering wheel, privacy glass and ventilated seats. That's factory order for December delivery. Together, it will cost me 12.5K for 2 years, vat included, 5K miles per annum. So after adding extras it's still cheaper than broker's deal I found here.

Great cars but like all A8s you cannot fold the rear seats down to carry large loads. Might not be an issue but bear it in mind.

It's my car that arrived in December :-)

For comparison, offer was £2280 + 23 x £395 for basic spec. I added some options and paid £2499 + 23 x £433.

I know this is a slightly weird question but can a towbar be fitted to the S8? The Audi configurator does not show a tow bar option and yet does show a cycle carrier that sits on a towbar.

If yes, then time to start looking for one of these deals instead of an A6....

It's in brochure as option 1D9 at £825 and S8 is not excluded, so it should be ok. Check with dealer.

I'd go back into Preston Audi quoting that deal. I've found them to be really helpful on previous dealings.

So if I can live without heated wheel, vented seats and smokes it is only £395 + Vodka?

Just checked with Preston but the deals are no longer as good: S8 at £544+VAT for 8k miles including a tow bar which I presume adds around £30 per month (6+23). Odd that they should change from day to day or maybe my haggling skills are not as good.

That is indeed good. The extra mileage would put it closer to the price i was given as 5k is nothing really, however still like for like a little cheaper back then i'd bet. I'm surprised more didn't take advantage as £4-500 a month for an £82k motor is an amazing deal.
