Indeed.

Current deals are nothing like as good.

Shame.

however, even at today's prices they are still pretty damn good deals. The issue will be getting the cars as they need to be reg'd in H1 2016.

I have one dealer who thinks they might have a cancelled order available.

They are working on a price for me.

It'll be interesting to see what they come up with.

getting excited and watch youtube videos smile

admittedly as the S8+ has only just come out, most of the vids are about that. Also the review cars are optioned up to the hilt so most of the stuff they take you through is not the sort of thing you'll have on your lease car when it arrives.

here's PH stalwart shmee reviewing the S8+

i've got to admit i am not sure about his films. I think the last part few mins after he's got back from Germany are irrelevant and make him look a bit show-offy. He manages to fit into about 60 seconds the fact that he has a ferrari in the airport car park, that he lives in monaco, that he has loads of cars outside his house etc. That plus him apparently being about 25 means he's going to annoy about as many people as he has fans. Could just miss all that crap off, and he'd have a bigger following.... maybe.

Anyone managed to get a deal similar to the one last year?
ish...

£5k down (£1k being refunded to me in June) then £360+VAT over 2 years 10k PA.

There were the small matters of admin fee and broker profit sweetener.

Last I looked they were up to £480+VAT pcm though so it's drawing to a close. Limited dealer allocations, s

Standard S8 is dangerously* fast when using manual mode. Also the exhaust sound is much better then.

Regarding difference between reviewed cars on the net and what I actually got, only disappointment were carbon atlas inserts. For some reason I thought they will be with gold copper lines like on reviews but that's Audi individual option.

  • dangerous for my driving licence.

Mine has the factory sports exhaust, which is the same one as fitted to the S8+. Hard to say if it's worth having as I haven't driven one at length without it, but the crackles and burbles on overrun are quite noticeable and the growl when you switch it to dynamic mode, is much deeper and louder (but still fairly quiet).

Does the standard S8 have the option in 'Individual' setup of the the 'Car' settings to change the exhaust note?

I thought about sport exhaust but decided it may not suit limousine type of car. Yes, I can change settings of exhaust to dynamic and that's what I have on all the time.

I think a lot of the sound is synthesised through the speaker system as it is in most modern cars so maybe the sports exhaust is more for the benefit of people outside! It certainly sounds very fruity when I hear my wife driving it. It seems to only switch to the loud mode when the engine is in dynamic mode (which it usually is). One gripe I have with the car is that the gearbox and engine modes are linked - I used to like having the M5 engine in sports mode and the gearbox in comfort so it would use the torque rather than the revs.

I don't use dynamic setting for engine/gearbox because it defaults to sport mode on gearbox, which I don't need all the time. I prefer to change to S myself when needed.

I think that is the best feature of the gearbox, allowing you to toggle between S mode and anything else. I usually use the eco mode on the motorway, and when needed use S mode.

Just seen £543 a month including VAT on a 9+23 10k miles per annum. Whilst that might not be insane it's still £16k for an S8 for two years! I am thinking about buying an RS6 but am struggling to get my head round the bath I would take owning one for two or three years.

on the S8 the best deals were around £6500 a year. A couple of weeks ago they were about £7000, and now they're £8000. Still a good deal really.

Well, it's £17376 plus whatever fees they charge (I've seen fees at £599, ie an extra month). I can't get my head around parting with c£5K more than the best deals available only a few months ago.

I thought about an RS6 too but dismissed it for the same reason that you did.

I think I'll just wait and see what else comes along.

I wasn't even looking until I saw the Q415 deals on S8.

Valid points, but you'd still be cruising round in an £82k motor for less that 1/2 what the car would depreciate over that time so still fantastic deals. I believe once the +'s really start to hit the streets, the non + may be offered favourably again so likely Q3 this year, but that's only a guess.

After discount of £20,938, it's only £60,443 car, so 17K is paying for most of depreciation.

"Our Discount Price includes the £7,000 Finance Deposit Contribution from AUDI UK when taking AUDI finance.
If buying cash please add £7,000 back onto the Discount Price above. "

If Audi continue to sell off S8, there should be another promotion in 4-6 months for end of 3rd and 4th quarter delivery. Latest promotion was for deliveries up to July.

That's my problem with the current deal.

At c£18K including fees, the current price just represents what the car would lose over the term anyway.

I'll wait.

I don't like his videos either (unless they've changed drastically from the few I have seen). It's important to remember that 'Shmee150' is a brand and a fairly successful one. He runs his business around attracting views online and the way he has developed doing this clearly works. I say fair play to him.
