I have experience with taking lease cars abroad. VE103 is needed, which I'm going to request in March. My last two cars did 80-90% of mileage in Europe. I don't have winter tyres for Audi so have to wait for spring.
What's the VE103?. Taken my F10 M5 which i Contract Hired across to the Continent a couple of times & other than informing my Insurers i don't think i contacted BMW FS to request their permission. TBH i'm not sure i read the T&C's but something tells me i may have done & it clearly stated EU travel was fine, but don't quote me on that.

It's an alternative to the V5, which the leasing company won't release to you. http://www.bvrla.co.uk/advice/guidance/vehicles-tr...
I never knew that. May call BMW FS next time i travel then.

Well, it's £17376 plus whatever fees they charge (I've seen fees at £599, ie an extra month). I can't get my head around parting with c£5K more than the best deals available only a few months ago.

I thought about an RS6 too but dismissed it for the same reason that you did.

I think I'll just wait and see what else comes along.

I wasn't even looking until I saw the Q415 deals on S8.
Valid points, but you'd still be cruising round in an £82k motor for less that 1/2 what the car would depreciate over that time so still fantastic deals. I believe once the +'s really start to hit the streets, the non + may be offered favourably again so likely Q3 this year, but that's only a guess.

i'm struggling to understand how it could possibly be a good business move for audi to charge a customer £13-15k over a 2 year period for an £80k car, and then when they receive it back, retail it for £45k... and do this numerous times over.
Because Audi HAVE to build the cars so have the choice to keep them gathering dust at airfields, cluttering up dealers (dealers won't want many of these as they could get 4 A4's for the same money) or get them out on the road with massive subsidies. Looks like the car's popular as they're being driven.

Same happens all over the car market, look at the F10 M5 a couple of years ago on the crazy lease deals (which i decided i'd jump on) same applied to the E63 & C63, now the M6 & M6GC has some amazing deals, the Golf R was almost given away about 18mths ago & even the Audi RS's are being offered with 16%+ off list & finance subsidies.

Let's not forget that an £80k S8 doesn't cost Audi anywhere near that to manufacture when they've tooled up the production line to produce them. Better to cover their costs & make a small profit on the car even at these prices than to have them sat around earning no money.

7 months old car at £53K:

http://www.audi.co.uk/used-cars/used-car-locator/a...

Colour must take the price down drastically. It has some extra options: 21" 5 triple spoke design alloy wheels, Power door closure, Privacy glass, Massage and ventilation function for front seats. So trade in price will be below £50K at 7 months.
That's perhaps not too bad assuming that car sold new with a £20k discount as would then mean 1st year depreciation (with the few options) is around £15k. If it sold for list then the owner is probably currently recovering in hospital from a financial haemorrhage.

I never received reasonable offer from VWFS for leasing extension so decided I will be looking for something else. I got a deal for standard A8 3.0 TDI Black Edition, 10K miles pa, 6 + 23 x £399 = £11,571. Base spec car unfortunately, as other cars disappeared before I chased the dealer who offered it. I'm taking delivery on 30/09/2017 and cutting short S8 lease by 2 months.

Initially, I planned to wait out for best possible deals at the end of the year but A8 diesel deal was tempting enough. I know new model is out but I don't like touch screens and I don't expect deals on it any time soon. I will live with old model with physical buttons to press.

I did oil service at 17100 miles. Service advisor contacted VWFS before service and was told to replace spark plugs. I also asked to investigate opening boot manually when it's disabled in MMI and they said handle is broken and would require further investigation and replacement but due to long waiting time for available service dates, I gave up. I knew I will be returning car soon anyway. But it's a shame because it's second warranty repair I gave up on, due to hassle it would take to fix it. During my two encounters with service I didn't feel encouraged to own an Audi, lease yes, own rather not.

I just requested purchase prices, as I'm in last 3 months of contract and was given following amount: £41,975.00 (car first registered on 30/11/2015). So if anyone is interested in buying S8 with minimal options, feel free to send me a message. It's a bit cheaper than cheapest car on Autotrader. Spec and photos at the beginning of the thread. Car will have around 19500 miles by the end of the month.
Still enjoying mine. A very nice place to be when covering long distances & the new engine performs much better than even i expected, whilst still returning well over 40mpg on a motorway journey.
