Insane S8 Lease Deals!!
Discussion
Clearly I'm still living in the 1980s then. All this talk of soft closing doors, night vision, cooled seats. Just cannot see the point. Gizmos for the sake of gizmos? I mean night vision - really? Do people actually watch a tiny screen looking for little green men in the centre of the dash instead of keeping their eyes on the road? Can't they shut the door properly? Do we all drive naked in the heady British 15C summer temperatures?
The real party trick of the S8 is the extraordinary supple suspension and relaxed nature when you want to mooch around in a beautifully comfortable cabin, and then thunder down the road like someone set fire to the warp drive with a physics-defying level of precision and control.

All depends on the point of view and what you expect from the car. I have weekend/second car which is less comfortable and that's fine, but I expect more from limousine. Even when it's a rocket on a road. I wouldn't bother with night vision but maybe someone lives in countryside and it could be useful, especially when you don't have to pay for the option when buying second hand. Cooled seats are def. handy when travelling to warmer places. Even in UK it can get quite hot in summer. BTW, new car with more options just showed up on Autotrader and it's only a bit more expensive than cheapest 65 plate cars, however it has 35k miles on a clock. £11,310 of options for extra £2-3K, so ex-lease cars are helping in lowering down second hand cars:
"Night Vision Assist with Pedestrian/Animal Detection (£1535), Head-Up Display (£1340), Glass Sunroof (£1035), 21" Triple Spoke Alloy Wheels(£1565), Switchable Sports Exhaust (£1215), Audi Assist Pack with Lane Assist (£510), Power Door Closure (£460), Ventilated Front Seats (£765), Heated Front & Rear Seats(£350), Privacy Glass (£390), Deluxe 4-Zone Climate Control in Rear Armrest(£1100), Piano Black Inlays(£850), Black Alcantara Pack, Garage Door Opener (Homelink) (£195),"

Mine's about to go back to Audi later this month. Been a great 2 years. Good enough to keep me loyal to Audi - S4 Avant on the way.
Slightly frustrating that the BCA inspection happens well before the handover date. I'd just prefer it was all done on the same day like my BMW before it, saves me the hassle of two different days.

I opened this thread to see the best S8 lease deals, but for some reason I can't see the pages before this one!?
Can someone update with the best deal(s) please?
Unfortunately your 2 years too late to the party. However as the cheap lease delas are feeding back into the used market you can now pick up a car less than 2 years old for less than 35k which could mean running the car second hand for less than the cheap leases of 2 years ago...Can someone update with the best deal(s) please?
These lease returns will make an incredible buy for someone, the S8 is a great car.
Not so good for me though, I’m someone who bought a 2016 car in November for £45k which seemed good value at the time
Good job my plan is to run it for quite a few years since there’s no way I’ll be able to change it without serious wallet pain for a while...

Mine has just gone back after 2 years and I won't miss it I don't think. Never really gelled with it like I did the F10 M5 before. Replaced with a 996 C4S manual so quite a contrast although I now no longer need a daily.
Unsure if of any interest for any owners but I have a set of genuine Audi roof bars which cost me £325 and were literally used twice. Open to sensible offers. Have box and manuals etc.

think on the new one there are dealer offers on the 50TDi for something like £3k down and then £500pcm. Not scintillating but it might work for someone who simply must have the new one and can't wait for the faster models (or can't afford).
Leasing prices are going down, so maybe in 1,5 year there will be some decent models (with better spec) for a good price. So far, I'm happy with my A8 D4 3.0TDI as "daily". I would never consider A8 if it wasn't for the S8 deal. Just about to hand mine back. I've been sent a reminder to service the AC, which looks like a standard 2 year reminder.
Since I'm handing the car back a couple of weeks before the 2 years are up, and the AC service is frustratingly not covered under my fixed price service plan, I'm not planning to waste a day of hassle dropping the car in and forking out 150 quid for a regas.
Also, it's odd that they didn't tell me this when the car had its oil service a month ago. Wish dealers would start putting themselves in the customer's shoes every now and then.
Anyone else done this (ie not serviced the AC, but done everything else on time, and handed the car back)?
For reference, I returned my BMW M5 before the next service was due (about a month away), and they took it back no problem.

Is AC service listed in maintenance schedule of the car? I don't see it in a brochure that came with my car. It will end up at auction anyway, so you will just waste your time and money doing it.
I found it a bit disappointing that I made sure car looks perfect and everything is included, while the guy who was doing inspection, never checked A8 before, so he wouldn't be able to tell if something is missing or not. And then car went to auction.
Mercedes is taking cars to their repairs centres, so they are more through out with their checks.

I think I agree, it will most likely be a waste of time and money.
The BCA guy who checked my M5 at the last handover only checked the onboard display for proof of servicing, and it sounds like Audi do the same thing (also BCA). There's no MMI service indicator for AC but I will have to check the docs. Besides, if the car goes back 2 weeks early, technically I guess it couldn't be a default even if AC were included in the schedule.

Hi Galahad. I was tempted by the lower prices of these 2 year old cars. I'd be interested why you feel that you wont miss the S8.
