Are you talking contract lease deals or the PCP; any examples? Ta.
It was PCP & i didn't take note of any figures, other than i could swap from my current F10 M5 deal across to an M6GC for virtually the same outlay (my M5 deal was one of the ultra low ones from 2yrs ago). There plan however failed as my F10 M5 is on a CH agreement not a PCP so i couldn't move out of it.

Dealer was Stratstone Chesterfield.

A mate and I were in Guildford Audi last weekend. They had matched an on-line lease deal and got an S8 demo in from Camberley. We took it for a test drive, signed the paperwork and my mate left a deposit. For some reason he failed the credit check (possibly because he wasn't on the electoral roll) They were fine to deal with though!

He is now trying to find a cheaper deal online!
Would you mind telling me who was the sales person he dealt with?
Sure, Louise Titcombe
Lol. What's her actual name, please?
It was a bloke called ben, ben dover i recall or was it phil?
I was waiting for that, but it is correct. See here:

Louise is indeed real and helpful. Just signed the forms this evening. Thanks to everyone for their help.

Spec is Daytona grey with lunar silver interior. Only one option added: towbar @£825. Deal worked out as 451.66 incl VAT (9+23 and 10k miles) so if we deduct 825, that's around 425pm incl VAT. I haven't even bothered with a test drive - not sure it's going to tell me very much and at that price I feel it's a no-brainer.

Delivery in April but I'm waiting for a confirmation.

Have you seen interior colour in real life? You'd better keep cleaning wipes in the car, you will need them :-) I'm glad you got a good deal directly :-)

Woah, So she was taking my mate for a ride at £680pm with sunroof and privacy glass on the same mileage etc!

9 payments up front is a very large deposit for a 2yr lease or PCP so your mate could have been looking at a 3+ or 6+ profile. When you total the payments, usually very little difference over the term, just a difference in what you chuck into the deal upfront.

Don't worry - Harris_I is paying over £600 a month. His man-maths allow him to conveniently ignore the nine-months up-front payment.

What matters is total cost over leasing period.

Thanks PP, your help was invaluable. My M5 has a Silverstone interior which seems quite similar. The little rat bds have been under strict orders not to eat sugary crap in my car for the past 2 years. So far so good, so I'm going for the same colour combo again.

smile Don't worry, I'm just a little jealous in case you hadn't guessed. Cracking deal, but my dog wouldn't like being shut in the boot.

Sorry I mis-read, yes my mate was 6x deposit which worked out at about £4k

I briefly considered lunar silver (which in my opinion is the best color combo), but then realised the pain of keeping the interior clean on my F10 BMW with oyster interior. Too much hassle especially for a rental, so decided to go for boring black.

The matt Floret silver looks awesome. Yet not sure I could spunk 5k on it though.

What's the PH wisdom on fixed vs variable servicing? I'm advised that over 2 years, it would be more economical for me to choose fixed servicing - ie 2 cheaper services in 20k miles versus 1 expensive service towards the end. And no running in service.

However, since 80-90% of my driving will be motorway, I'm surprised I'm being advised this. Isn't there a £350 option for cars on a variable service schedule? In which case I'd pay £350 once and probably have one service only for the lease duration.

Did you get quotes for 1st and 2nd service? With motorway driving they should recommend long life/variable service schedule. My dealer told me, it will be cheaper to buy service plan for £350 than paying for service.

That's what I thought. On the Audi website the S8 fixed services are £255 and £699 so the service plan seems a no-brainer. Not sure why I've been pushed onto the fixed schedule.

For some strange reason my S8 has a payment profile of 6m+22m meaning that the lease is for a period of 23 months instead of the usual 24. Therefore I may even avoid having to have the 24m inspection done. Plus if I wanted to extend the lease all I have to do is keep on paying the monthlies for however long I want to keep it.

Is it directly from VWFS? Nothing like this in my contract, just standard conditions. It would be convenient to extend contract on monthly basis if required.

Yes it is with VWFS, I didn't question it at the time since I thought I got the best of both worlds. Ability to hand back the car before inspection service or the option keep paying monthlies for however long I choose.
