golf edition 30

I reckon his ancient RB5 got spanked by a Golf R shopping cart and the resentment is starting to come out on here. There's a reason people behave the way they do
That was my first thought. Either that or a mapped ED30 pulled his pants down.
OP - if the car has treated you well thus far, why don't you just get your local dealer/specialist to replace old for new and stick OEM?

Ahh that old chesnut, I wouldn't normally get involved with someone so special, but I've seen this response posted by you so many times, I can't resist. Did you accidently not realise that Edition 30 might be VW or Golf related... Do us all a favour, stop wasting everyones time with your repetitive b0llocks. Complete bellendery at its finest.
OP, better of just a general re-bush, but certainly anti-roll bar drop links. Bump stops often split too on these.
He really is a proper cum stain, next time he fancies having a go at vw let's not bite guys , I think he's getting off on itOP, better of just a general re-bush, but certainly anti-roll bar drop links. Bump stops often split too on these.
Oh dear, how childish. Rather than try to dispute my points all you guys can manage is playground insults.
Are VW really so crap that they need to be defended by a tribe of insult slingers.
You do know that when you have to resort to insults you have already lost don't you?
Poor show guys. Debate > namecalling.
Amazing how saying a car is dull is somehow worse than all the namecalling you lot are coming out with. I can only guess you are all very young/not long out of school by the manner in which you behave.
I don't dislike all VAG cars and would in fact like an RS4, RS6 but having driven a golf gti it really was dull. No need to get upset about it, its only a view.

You appear to be a massive hypocrite too. You've mentioned the word childish quite a few times... so how childish is bashing VW at every given opportunity? You appear to think you're being really constructive, giving insightful opinions based on your own experience. Well you're not, you're nothing more than a troll and a stain on the community. Poor show? You fking hypocritical prick.
Oh dear. I'd love to hear you tell me that to my face. I'm often at the PH SS so feel free to come and tell me that next time rather than hide behind the keyboard as a wannabe tough guy.
And yes I used the word childish as you are indeed acting like that. Namecalling is best kept in the playground.

Everyone here just wants to have a decent constructive conversation. You seem intent on ruining that by doling out completely unjustified "opinions". If you can justify them then do so, but without it you' just look like you're baiting for no other reason but to annoy people
You're obviously an elderly chap, you shouldn't need educating on how to socialise with people.

Looking at your 'garage' you have hardly owned any fine cars have you? The RB5 is about the only one that's decent - assuming its not rusty.
The e36 no good? The focus ST? The 3 fiesta zetec-s's are great cars no doubt about that unless you don't think a puma drives well, you have driven them all I guess to form your opinion? Indeed the golf v6 really was a low point, but I'm only in my early 30's so plenty of time for other cars.I see you have chosen not to show what great cars you have owned. Speaks volumes.
Well then Andrew if you had not started with the insults and had written a more mature post as you just have then perhaps the thread would have kept on track better.
If someone starts insulting me then yes I will point out the error in their behaviour. Its not acceptable to go on like that and expect it to fly because someone called a car dull.

My daily car is a very well cared for ed30. Its done 80k now and is going into Awesome Gti next week for its second cambelt/ water pump change, DSG service and oil and to have new steering arms and track rod ends.
It's feeling a little splashy in the corners and at that age and miles I'm guessing its due a suspension refresh.
I'm 42 and thus don't want to lower it, stiffen it or make into a road racer - just restore it's agility as it's just a daily beater.
So, what typically would you guys recommend I replace - the shocks are not leaking so I assume that they are still good?
What bushes tend to wear?
Thanks in advance

Mine's on 97K and feeling the same. I'm pretty sure it's down to the F1s on the front being down to 2mm
You will probably find the tie rods and arms will solve most of the washyness. No point throwing parts at it that aren't required, although having said that, if you were rebuild the chassis with all new OEM bushes, mountings, springs and dampers, it makes a profound difference. Need deep pockets for that though.
Thanks for the input chaps.
Are they SACHs equivalents or the actual genuine SACHs? I know they'll probably state they're for a Golf GTI, but the quality (i.e life span) won't be the same.
Oh and I would recommend 8P Audi S3 console bushes. The original voided ones are rubbish.

WIth regard to bushes then I'd want to avoid poly bushes, except perhaps on the ARB's. Everyone I've asked say the Poly bushes transmit more vibration into the cabin - as its a daily hack I just want it smooth and sharp like it was, plus I'll have the children in on the occasional school run.
Thanks to you and other for your help and opinions
LIke others say, it's probably best to avoid engaging with that troll chap,,,erm what's his name again? Oh never mind

You guys are the fools for responding to him tbh.
Correct. If it wasn't for the childish namecalling then the first post would have been my last in this thread. Hurl insults and expect a reply.
And calling a car dull does not make you a troll. You guys have very thin skin if the word dull upsets so much. You would have thought I'd insulted your mothers by the way you guys have carried on.
