Thanks for this. I have decent data on my phone contract so will probably use that for the 3 months Audi Connect trial to try it out.
Did the dealer mentioned what happened at the end of the Audi Connect Trial? What's the cost if I want to continue it?
I have just been chatting to Audi customer services via their online support. Basically they said that anyone who's audi connect service expires in 2016 will receive a complementary extension . They said communications would be issued in regards to the services from next year. I registered mine yesterday and it says the expiry for me is 21st April 2017 so I have it free for 12 months which is a bonus!Did the dealer mentioned what happened at the end of the Audi Connect Trial? How are you all getting on with your new A4's? Took mine on my first long journey today and have to say I was impressed with the ride quality. The car is a really decent cruiser. Glad I specced the auto hill hold option as its a god send in the rush hour traffic. Bought myself a pre pay Three data sim with 12gb of data from Amazon recently to use the Audi connect feature as I didn't realise you can't tether to an iPhone.
Well I've been enjoying my Avant thoroughly, very happy with it...... until it broke down on Wednesday!
Stuttered into safe/idle mode on a dual carriageway, and a few seconds later completely gave up! Wouldn't start again, just turning over but not starting. "system fault contact workshop" on dash. Audi Assist were great though, and got the AA to me in 10 mins, though by that stage it started working again as if nothing was wrong. AA saw nothing wrong though followed me to nearest Audi garage. They've still got it, can't find any faults, though agreed with me that it sounds a bit like a fuel pressure issue. They've sent fuel samples off to a lab somewhere so waiting for the results.
Only 2 months old, so v disappointing, but these things happen, and as I say Audi Assist have been very good so far. And before that the car was excellent, very nice place to spend my commute.

No problems so far from me. I'd agree that it's a really comfortable and quiet cruiser. The ride really is rather impressive and once up and running it really doesn't feel underpowered which I was concerned with coming from an M135i.
The media system/Apple Carplay has been a bit sketchy though. Sometimes it simply doesn't recognise that there's a USB plugged in (just says 'loading'). Other times it's fine. With the Apple Carplay, sometimes it just simply will not play music even though it's connected and I'm left just stabbing at the play button to no effect.
From an ergonomics and driving dynamics perspective it's been really rather impressive as a comfortable place to spend time. I'd definitely recommend one to anyone who's after a family hack and doesn't need a diesel. Fuel economy on a decent run is good too. On a recent motorway trip (c. 100 miles) I saw 50mpg.

Are the headlights standard across the range or do they change per trim level? I've got an s-line 252 quattro saloon due in November but can't see if they are the 4 LEDs in a row or are more of a bar type arrangement similar to the Seat Leon and most other current Audis. I know you can spec the ones with the sweeping indicators but can't tell if this affects the headlights or not.

I have the sport trim (as that was the cheap lease deal) which includes the xenons with pretty rubbish looking DRLs that look like four mini light bulbs attached to the cluster. I think all s-line models do come with LED headlights and the smarter looking DRLs. Above that you can spec matrix LED lights as an option. The media system has played up once , I think I just switched the engine off and then on again and it sorted itself out. Fortunately not had any issues since, probably just a software issue. Have to say I am not missing the M135i that much! The Audi does everything I need well enough. The media system/Apple Carplay has been a bit sketchy though. Still miss the BMW's 6 cylinder cold starts though...

I installed a mini 0805 dashcam earlier today and thought i'd post some photos in case anyone else is interested in doing the same.
The dashcam is located behind the rear view mirror on the passenger side. I took some time to position the dashcam so the dotted bits don't appear on the image.
The cable is then routed into the headlining and a sticky pad used to keep the cable straight. The headlining is fairly easy to feed the cable into.
The cable is fed into the headlining on the passenger side . I could not get the headlining to open up right into the corner so used an additional sticky pad to hold the cable into place.
The cable goes across the A pillar and into the rubber weather strip. I am not sure if the car has airbags in the a pillar but will move the cable higher up just incase.
The cable was then fed into the rubber strip and down to near the passenger seat.
The cable is then routed under the seat and up to the 12V socket in the rear. I am going to get another 2 port USB socket for the rear as the one in the picture I use at the front. The cable is 5 metres in length and there was probably less than a metre spare, which is hidden under the rear passenger mat. Finally the socket is disabled once the engine is off so no issues with battery drain. The camera was not hard wired as it's a lease car so it will be a 5 min job to remove once the car goes back.

Really looking forward to getting mine now. Ordered about a month ago and currently your Audi says its in quality control so hopefully not much longer to go.
Moving on from a Mk7 Fiesta ST which when used in anger has been great fun but as a daily with a heavily pregnant wife, not so.

I've been running the A4 1.4 Avant since June on a lease deal and I've been massively impressed with it (baby due shortly).
Before taking delivery the thought of the 1.4 did cause me some concern but it's actually a very capable engine.
The only issues I've had so far are the Apple Car Play intermittently working (to the point where I don't bother using it anymore) and once after opening the bonnet the front wipers stopped working and the bonnet open light was illuminated. After getting Audi Rescue out to the car it turns out that you have to shut the bonnet with a hand on each corner to ensure it closes properly.
One thing I've noticed when using the Audi Drive Select - I keep it in Dynamic mode permanently, if I scroll from Dynamic to Auto (or any another mode) and back again to Dynamic it's as if it refreshes the mode and the car is somewhat more lively. I'm definitely not imaging this as it happens every time.
Has anyone else had experience of this?

I test drove one of these back to back with the 2.0tdi 150 engines A4 yesterday. I have to say, the 1.4t engine is a peppy wee bugger. Struggles a bit at low revs but moves pretty briskly once you get going. Interior is lovely and the seats are comfy. I'm really considering pulling the trigger on one. One question though - how are you all finding the real life MPG? Is it anywhere close to Audi claimed figures?
