I've no idea about delivery date - how did you find out? Retailer knows nothing....

I just emailed the retailer (Swansway)

He had only got word himself as it happens but probably only because mine is almost ready to be built.

Mine skipped a stage (being built) and went from build date confirmed to being in transit. The tracking suggests it takes 4 weeks to reach the dealership but seems like other people have found it takes considerably less time.

I don't think there is any way to tell unless the status updates quite quickly after. My initial thoughts are that the tracker isn't particularly accurate, I'm expecting it sooner than the 3 weeks it suggests based on a bit of research. For example in the period of 2 days it went from 4 weeks to 3 weeks.

Estimations seem to very much err on the side of caution!

A week ago I was told collection W/C 16th May - got confirmation today that my car is in stock today. Just have to post off agreement and arrange to collect it.

Have you made arrangement to pick it up? When do you get it?

Just posted off agreement and paperwork. I assume they won't agree collection / delivery date prior to recieving that so I'll call them tomorrow.

They're being difficult over delivery. I live in NI, and there is only free mainland delivery. Typically I would have it delivered to Cairnryan, travel over as footpasanger, meet them in the carpark, then bring it back home.

This dealership is only agreeing to deliver to home or work address, then looking silly money to deliver to NI (effectivly forcing me to travel over and collect it, saving them the delievery cost).

Oh dear, sounds like you are getting fobbed off a bit. I'm also in NI but I work for a company that has locations dotted all around the UK so if they try and pull that one on me then at least I'll be prepared for it.

What lease Co did you book your car through? I got mine through Swansway and they said they would take it to any UK destination, port, airport or otherwise.

I'm debating whether to fly over to Liverpool and take the Liverpool Belfast boat home or to do to Cairnryan as a foot passenger like you say. Both routes work out about the same in terms of cost so I'm not sure. The Liverpool boat takes 8 hours though - only benefit being that I live beside the Airport so its literally a hop skip and a jump to get to Liverpool - flights about 35 mins just.

Thankfully I work for a contractor and we've a job right beside Holyhead, so that's still a posibility. I'm still a bit pissed off though that they won't just deliver it to Cairnryan, or even offer to throw on a free set of mud-flaps or something as a gesture if I'm out the expense of traveling over to pick it up at the dealer. I'll be out the guts of £500 between flights, night in a hotel likely, and ferry.

I've got that liverpool ferry before (after picking up a Focus ST), getting the car up onto the car-deck will give the 4x4 a work out anyway! I'd get the overnight one and get a bit of kip - it's a long sit on a ferry during the day

  • edit, ordered through NVS btw

first photos starting to appear..... http://i.imgur.com/nUDv4tG.jpg

Mine is at dealer, but not sure when I'll get a chance to pick it up.

They won't deliver to NI
They won't meet me with it at a port
They won't let me collect it unless it's during working hours Mon-Fri
They won't even deliver it to a friends address unless it's Mon-Fri, and they want then to sent their license in prior to delivery.......

Bit of a joke and any time I complain I get "we've got people queing up to take it if you don't want it".

Also just had a phone-call to confirm that the car doesn't have LED headlights, contrary to "what's included" on the builder website!

That sounds shoddy - who is that through?

Yes, bit of a misprint on their website. Included in the 'what's included' but the two different headlight upgrades are on the options list as expensive cost options.

So its official now - the £34k, brand newly built cars for the price of a sky TV subscription have started to land woohoo

Thats poor service from your supplier though. And yes, I'm sure they'll be delighted if you don't take the car - they'll give it to someone else with a healthy couple of grand extra margin on top - some people/companies have no scruples frown
