Mine Alltrack should be turning up sometime today, but not heard anything yet! I was told I would hear from the driver an hour before.
Received the all important call as of yet?

Aha! Yes. The driver called about 11.45 and turned up 12.20. smile

This has been the most painless car "purchasing" experience I have ever had - uchoose are now officially highly recommended by me, especially James who I dealt with from start to finish.

I offered to drop the driver off at the local train station, but while chatting to him on the way, he said he was going to Stockport next to pick a car up, so I thought might as well take him there as it's only 20mins away.

First impressions are pretty good - lots to play with - it is nice to be able to programme options without a OBDC cable or bluetooth dongle. biggrin

Been working from home today and still going, so hopefully when the kids are in bed I can go out and have a play and get my phone connected up.

Still fancy App Connect, but if I can mount my iPhone 6 plus somewhere decent and get bluetooth streaming working I might not need it. The built in Sat Nav seems pretty good once you have worked out where the postcode input is and then realised that you have to put a space in the middle of the postcode - WTF is that all about? Why can they not write the code so that users can search for a postcode without having to put the space in? confused

Emeye - sounds god. Let us know how you get on with your phone and connectivity minus the AppConnect.

Mine is coming on Friday. I asked the dealer for a retrofit AppConnect and they said it can't be done!

I'm in Stockport so will keep an an eye out for you!

I've just been out for a drive and a play. Drives pretty well, is a lovely place to be at night. Not much I can say - it's a Big VW estate. Full size spare is great.

Don't get AppConnect fitted until you have had a play with the built in tech. First impressions are you won't miss AppConnect unless you use a specific app of the limited CarPlay apps or like sending hands free voice messages. I have a Pioneer CarPlay headunit in my wife's car that I had in my previous car for over a year so I'm pretty used to it now - no idea about Android Auto but I'm guessing it's pretty similar. It took me about 30mins sat in the car setting up Car Net on my phone. It would be easier on a PC. This gives you access to limited Google type data such as news stories and weather etc it uses your phone as a wifi hotspot. I think you also get extra traffic info than the TMC stuff that comes over the radio.

I'm quite happy that it will play my Apple Music collection either through the port under the armrest or via Bluetooth. My iPhone 6 Plus sits nicely in from of the DSG gear stick. It just rests on the climate controls without getting in the way - a regular iPhone 6 may fit even better - I have one so will give it a try.

First impressions of the Nav is good, lots of options to play with though. Finding postcode entry is a challenge, the delivery driver showed me where it was - press city then Postcode is in the left hand corner of the screen - don't forget to put the space in he middle of the postcode otherwise it will not find it - lame programming.

Hands free worked ok.

I had a play with the adaptive cruise too. Need to work out exactly how it works. I assume it will auto emergency stop when driving in town, but no idea exactly how I know if that is working or not, or is even included.

When the delivery driver dropped it off at lunch the engine fan was running for a long time, which was strange. Anyone else noticed his?

Loads more to play with and setup - the performance meters made me laugh. Not sure who would be timing a lap in an Alltrack.....

Yes it will bring the car to a stop if the car in front stops.
Press the ACC button to adjust its sensitivity.

Mine turned up at 8am this morning on the back of a flat bed. Only driven 300m around the car park so too early for first driving impressions. Interior is nice, and a nice update from my 2012 VW CC, which was awash with black leather. Seats comfy, usual VW interface which is easy to use. White exterior sets off the black body trim and the wheels are nice. Will try and get pics tonight for those of you who have forgotten what one looks like laughlaugh

But you have to turn ACC on and set the speed - if it isn't on is the radar still active so it will stop you in an emergency should you be busy perving, txting, reading the Google News or a kid runs out etc?

Are the answers you seek not in the manual?

Probably - have you seen the size of the manual though? I thought it would be nice to discuss this feature on the forum, as how these automated features are meant to work are not always how real life experience demonstrates.

I always believed the idea of these threads was to give advice and ask questions about the car.

I might take the manual on holiday to give it a read - no chance at the moment.....

Just reached Step 5a of 7 on the VW build tracker this morning (in transit: left factory).

Getting excited now!

From those in the know who have already received their Alltracks, does this mean about 4 weeks to pick-up?

Thanks very much.

I get mine next week so really looking forward to getting it. How are people finding the 190 DSG in terms of how quick it feels - does it feel like a 190BHP car when you plant the right foot or does it feel better/worse?

I am a bit lost in all of the excitement on this thread. Can someone enlighten me as to what the Alltrack deal was and if it is still live?

Many thanks,

James

Thanks hornetrider. Only a bit of a shame as our 2010 Octavia Scout 1.8 TSI has given up the ghost (epic oil consumption = pistons, rings, and chain).
