Couldn't find another thread on the new Tiguan. I never really liked the soft looks of the outgoing Tiguan, but the new model looks fantastic IMO. The proportions are perfect and it looks a lot more chunky and purposeful than the old model. I think this could well be our new family wagon later this year. Will be looking forward to seeing the pricing and options.

I like the car but those wheels look ridiculous. They're so big that it looks like one of those Max Power style drawings of a Corsa.

Ridiculous practical question but does anyone know if the boot space has finally been improved. It's beyond crap in the old version!

My wife would like one as her next car but she said you can barely fit a pram in the back, let alone shopping too, so what use is that as a family car?

Totally agree. The old one never looked as good as its bigger brother but this one does look great. We need to replace the XC90 next year and this might just convince the other half that we don't quite need such a big car.

I think i meant more around options etc, leather, panoramic sunroof, etc

Also, wondered if there might be a hybrid type option

There's already some info on the VW website (the covered picture is clickable) but it'll be fully loaded from tomorrow.

Be interesting to see how it goes - it's supposed to be quite a bit dearer than the existing one, although that's been heavily discounted for some time now. Bought one for my missus 6 mths ago - the current one is a nice size for an urban SUV, she really wouldn't want anything bigger.

Pan roof will be standard on SEL trim (but I was bemused to see that leather isn't).

At first glance I thought it was a Touareg!

Wheels/arches look massive as well.

"beyond crap" compared to what? Current Tiguan is ballpark the same as other medium size cars. New one is a third larger.

I think it do with some more horizontal detailing at the front....
..and it should be hunkered down more to allow better cornering speed, and less clearance over speed bumps and god forbid anything resembling 'dirt', larger more blingy wheels and lower profile tyres would be good too, to finally kill off that much vaunted go-anywhere vibe hehewink

I think SEAT Ateca is the same car as new Tiquan - VW must think it's hilarious that SEAT chose today to release the pricing!

I agree it looks comedically overwheeled, like one of those street artist pictures. Are they 22s?
