Well pleased, managed to get a stock Lapiz Blue DSG hatch £8900 all in over 2 years. Now just got to sell the Focus STD. No 6 months of waiting and hoping of a quick factory delivery.

Not saying just yet as I don't want any risk of getting gazumped until finance is all approved. Sorry.

Is that meant to be a good deal?

Not strictly lease related, but for those of you that also leased an estate that want a boot protector mat but don't want to pay VW prices, I just managed to pick this heavy duty rubber one up from Costco in Milton Keynes for a tenner - width-wise it fits perfectly, length-wise it's about 10-15cm short, but it covers most of the floor and doesn't roll about so for the money it's worth it...(sorry for the sideways pic, dunno why it's uploaded like that)

Its certainly not a bad deal, I think he is more bothered though about the fact he can get it now rather than 6 months so is willing to pay a bit more

The lease prices on the hatch are going up and up.. Iam told the residuals have dropped significantly just recently by a few dealers/brokers. Ive done a lot of research and quotes and the deal I got and the fact I can have it in 2 weeks tops is what did it for me. Iam happy.....

Finally at build week after ordering through Select back in May. Would definitely think twice about going through them again; they're blaming the delays on the VW supplier issue but the more I read on here that's looking more and more like a convenient excuse for them!

It's going to be a long 4/6/8 weeks until delivery...

Completely sympathise with you! I also ordered via Select early June - my Golf R is now in transit and waiting to be shipped from Emden.

How you've only just got a build week amazes me.

Joke or what

Does anyone know of any good R deals (either hatch or estate) on 20k p/a?

Thanks

That's all that matters, just keep in mind different things make different people happy wink

£8900 over 24 months is £370/month - As others were saying probably another customer's cancelled order. You're happy paying extra to get something you want quickly.

I'd say most people in this thread are like me, they're only getting the golf-r because the deal was so good - and are (reasonably) happy waiting a little longer to pay £100/month less for the same car.

Enjoy the car... I've just had an update to say mine will be built in 5 weeks!

Rumour from the main Leasing thread is that the order book on this Golf-R is now closed, and it might be February until you can order the facelift one.

Seeing peoples "Estate" R's finally coming through is obviously a good thing, I presuming around this time next year (and the year after) will be the time they start hitting the 2nd hand market...IE - year old lease coming to an end etc..

I know it's very, very early days and no one's got a crystal ball but what would you estimate a year old (say approx 20k miles) Estate R to be going for?? Once again, don't shoot me down...just be interested in some guess'timations on a cash purchase?

Been keeping an eye on this thread: http://www.vwroc.com/forums/topic/16256-official-m...

It appears night blue is removed from next month. If my car isn't built I'm really not sure what will happen.

Anyone else with VS and National pushed for some form of compensation? Seems a bit harsh, as it's out of their hands, but seen it mentioned on VWROC.

Ordered mine from vehicle leasing online on a 12 month lease.
Came within 4days and had the choice of 3.
Not the cheapest but didn't fancy the wait.

The face-lift is pretty astounding

Those are just renders, the official pictures leaked a couple of months ago and it looks like only minor changes

http://www.autoblog.nl/nieuws/scoop-dit-wordt-de-f...

Interior should see the Active Info Display from the Passat (as per Audi's Virtual Cockpit in the facelift A3) along with the updated Infotainment system from the facelift Leon.

The autocar article says the updated Golf R is getting a power hike to 414bhp. Anybody heard whether this is confirmed?

Weren't there issues with getting the engine to do that sufficiently reliably for the proposed R400?

Thick end of a 120hp hike for a face lift would be serious stuff when 10-20 is probably the norm for your average manufacturer - sounds like magazine bull IMHO. If it were to happen, presumably it would cost a fair amount and have rivals all looking for the 11 knob.
