After 25 months my Golf R hatch went back to Lease Plan this morning. The inspector was (very) thorough, but fair. They take a bunch of pictures on an tablet and print a report out from a printer in the boot of their car which is quite cool. Its all done and dusted while they are there, there is no further inspection or possibility of a bill later down the line.
Did you get charged for any damage reclaim from LP? My Audi goes back to them Tuesday (when the R arrives) and although in relatively good condition there are a couple of less than perfect alloys etc....

Another one collected here, which has been christened Toothless by my kids, who are obsessed with "How to Train Your Dragon", as it is Night (fury) Blue... Great service from the folks at TL Darby in Burton throughout the process and I am very happy with the car so far - it drives very differently to my old Vectra VXR, despite the power and weight figures being similar on paper. I have only managed 50 miles, but I think this is going to be a nice way to spend the next couple of years!

No charges. Two of my alloys were curbed, slightly. I think you are allowed up to one 10cm curb rash mark per alloy. Any more than that and they will probably recharge some damage.

Thanks, hopefully I'll be OK then.

Looks mint. I'm getting mine delivered by TL Darby on Monday and I can't wait.

Nice! I've got a white one coming in September. Did you get a good deal?

For those that have ordered through Vindis Bedford, have you got a build date yet?

I'm still on Stage 2, been like that for a week or so now but I have been told I have a build slot confirmed?

Mine is also on stage 2, however I emailed Nick yesterday and he told me that on the factory system it looks like it is being scheduled for build around week 35 (28th August) but this may move backwards or forwards until confirmed.

I've just spoken to VW Customer Service and they said the same thing to me. When do we expect to receive the cars then, do you know?

He said to me probably around mid September but I bet it'll be later - shame as I thought I was getting one that was in build last week but it seems not

Hold out hope!

But from reading it would seem like a 4 week process from build week to dealer so end of September seems more realistic!

Who is currently doing the best lease deals on Golf R's? And roughly what should I be looking to pay? 6k miles 24 month personal lease?

Ours from Vindis in Bedford had got to Stage 3 with a build week of 15/08/16 but now the online order tracker doesn't have a date - hoping that's a system glitch.

Also the trim says Race cloth on the order but Titan Black on the online tracker which has been confirmed as system glitch!

Not that anyone really buys an R for economy but I was pleasantly surprised to see yesterday and today that on my morning commute (think M25 traffic at 60 for the most part and a couple of A roads) MPG of just over 40! Average is still around 33 which I think is pretty good too.

That's unbelieveable! On a similar commute I struggle to get above 30 even in eco. Highest so far is 33. Average is 25.... I am 3,000 miles in

This is about as good a current deals get - VehcileSavers? Not entirely conviced by their customer communications. I'm lacking any updates on my order.

Vehicle Savers don't do much except pass your details onto National Fleet. They called me last Thursday to tell me the finance had went through and they would be ordering the car. Today I received an email from them to say the car had been ordered and the order accepted. There was no ETA.

Best offer I've had to far is 3+23 at 297 per month for 5 door dsg with 6000 miles per year is this good? Seems like looking at some of the cars on the second hand market the car wouldn't depreciate by the amount I'm paying?
