Winter pack comes as standard on all new builds now I believe, no need to spec it. I should know, if my car had been a week later it would have been fitted. Woe is me.
Winter pack is just heated seats I take it not leather??If you want the other wheels and a metalic colour its the cost / 23 I take it ?

Does anyone know where I can find and d/l a guide for the Nav system in the R?
Can't seem to see any instructions in the 300 page manual for it.
Worst nav system i've ever used (ok i've only ever used a Tom Tom lol).
Took my days just to figure out how to put a postcode in. Can't figure out how to store favourites etc etc.
Somebody at VW should really spend some time with an Apple product to understand how to make a simple interface as this one is a nightmare.
Great car mind

Just pulled the trigger myself - 5 Door Manual Metallic Black;
6+23 @ £254 inc VAT - 10k and £360 admin charge.
Slightly worried about the house being targeted. Might get the alarm and gate locks upgraded!
I think there is a general question about how the gangs are finding them. There was another targeted locally from a different dealer. Both very low mileage cars on cul de sacs. No passing traffic. There have been a spate across Leeds, Wakefield and Bradford.6+23 @ £254 inc VAT - 10k and £360 admin charge.

An off hand remark from my police contact suggested that they think there are lists from either the supplying finance company or insurers that are helping the gangs. It's not from the dealers directly (not linked). It's from one of the common databases.
I doubt it is opportunistic thieves. Knowing IT/database security, I would not be surprised that people were supplying such lists.

The dealer has told me my build week is this week... so I am sat here refreshing the page every 10 mins waiting for an update...
It will normally take at least from Wednesday until at most next Tuesday for anything to say it's been built.I wouldn't waste your time, waiting, as nothing is likely to happen.
Got a quick question for anyone clued-up on the way VWFS deal with excess mileage.
I've had my golf for around 10 weeks now. It's a fantastic car but the week after getting the vehicle we won a large contract at work and I've found myself doing regular trips the entire length of the M1 to the clients sites around the M25 and back (to Yorkshire). Locations couldn't be more awkward as they're really difficult to get to by train (all at M'way services!) so I t's absolutely killing my mileage allowance (already done 6,500 miles!!!) and I'm just wondering how best to approach it with VW to try and get the best (or least worst) deal to pay for the extra mileage.
To give an idea I think it's likely I'll do about 35,000 miles a year, so 25,000 over the allowance. That's definitely the worst case scenario, it could drop right off by November, and I do get decent reimbursement from work so it's not a major drama but I still want to try and get the best rate.
Any advice?? Should I tell them ASAP and ask if they can come to a better deal, or just wait til later when I have a better idea of the actual mileage? There must be scope to reduce the ppm rate otherwise it would be pointless but I've no idea what ppm I should realistically be aiming for; 5ppm? 4? Less?

You can talk to them, but put yourself in their shoes - they won't want a 70k mile 2 year old Golf R, so they will want to recover and mitigate that vastly reduced future value?TeaNoSugar said:

I have read either on PH or another forum like VWROC that people have usually waited until they're into the second year of the lease to speak to VWFS about increasing mileage. I'm fairly sure i've seen one guy ask to stick another 10,000 on and he said they did it for around 3.5ppm. I think you can contact them at any stage though and they will give you a quote.I've had my golf for around 10 weeks now. Brilliant - that's what I was hoping for. Sounds reasonable. Thanks for the reply Gassing Station | Audi, Seat, Skoda & VW | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
