It will normally take at least from Wednesday until at most next Tuesday for anything to say it's been built.

I wouldn't waste your time, waiting, as nothing is likely to happen.
My order went from "build will begin shortly" to "Your car has left the factory and is on its way" in one day!

That's great smile. The proper waiting begins now!

It just needs to get from the factory to the port - can take up to 7 days
Then it needs to wait at the port for a boat
Then you'll get the update that it's on a boat
Then you'll get the arrived in the UK update.
Then it will have to wait at a compound there
Then it will be taken to your dealer for PDI.
The dealer will then PDI it, then you will be given a suitable collection day.

You still have quite a way to go!

What did you go for?

Found out the other day (driving home) that the USB socket does not charge phones (iphone 4S)eek

Can this be right in this day and age!

I have a USB charge thing that plugs into the 12v ciggy thing so can use that I guess.

Sure i've been in cars where i've plugged my cable directly into the USB port though..

Charges my HTC One (M8) fine. You may have to use the port for charging instead of data transfer, which may cause an issue, but it should still charge!

We're getting our lease R estate on 1 September to replace our Audi A6 Avant lease.

We got the paperwork last week and found that the monthly payments are down by £35 to £270 inc VAT.
As we're on a 6+23 deal we also save £210 on our upfront.
The car is Lapiz Blue with rear airbags, keyless entry and Car Net Apps.
I'm not sure why the monthlies have come down but I'm not complaining, especially as we are getting the revised higher regular spec version too.

Any business users getting or got a Golf R on lease as a company car, how was your experience getting a test drive?

Do most dealers tend to have demo cars?

Did you get an extended test drive (24 hour, unoccumpanied)?

Sorry for the rubbish camera phone photos. I was torn between limestone grey and night blue when I ordered. I ended up ordering the blue. Just seen this Golf in Ireland in the rain and can't tell if it's night blue, or a another shade, but it looks different to what I see when I ordered my R. Anyone able to confirm please?

3+23 6k Golf R, 5dr, manual, 19s, metallic, £286, £180 doc fee.

Sound reasonable? £255 without the 19s.

Anybody have any photos of a reflex silver with Pretoria wheels. I'm struggling to find many especially uk ones with no sunroof. It's silver or grey. Can't decide.

That looks like Night Blue to me.

I've got a mk7 GTD in that colour. It looks ace. Especially when it's clean.

Who was this with? I was about to "pull the trigger" with Vehicle savers (as yours with 19" + DSG) for 3+23 @£303 + £360 fee, but yours looks slightly cheaper.

Unfortunately an option. It's the only way to get a start button as well.

I have read either on PH or another forum like VWROC that people have usually waited until they're into the second year of the lease to speak to VWFS about increasing mileage. I'm fairly sure i've seen one guy ask to stick another 10,000 on and he said they did it for around 3.5ppm. I think you can contact them at any stage though and they will give you a quote.

National Fleet Services. Vehicle savers just go through them anyway I believe. I was told prices for new quotes have risen slightly on Thursday but I had an existing quote. Not sure if that was true or just sales bks.

£286 - £255 = £31 x 26 = £806 for different wheels on a car you give back after two years!
Fair play if you think it's worth it!

I did some similar calculations when considering whether to specify metallic paint or not. I decided it wasn't worth it which is why my Golf R will be white!
