Monday update!

Live chat confirmed today that I'm currently at production point 1. But they can't confirm the rate at which vehicles are being produced due to the recent delays.

Expect further information by the end of the week,with a good chance build should be complete.

Then apparently it can sit for 6 weeks in various ways until it reaches the dealer for PDI!

Just been told in transit and at port. On track to get it by the end of the month. Ordered early July, build week was 15/08. Standard car no extras. Anyone considering Gap Insurance ? Thoughts on the cost of the first service-£200?.

First service on my R was at 20k and cost £180 odd.

Sorry if I'm boring everyone with updates but my car is built and is currently in transit to Emden.

Anyone know how long it will be there for?

It seems like I definitely suffered a 2 weeks delay, so everyone who ordered the same time as me should be in the same situation.

Have just cancelled my R as it will be at least 6 months from order to delivery which is too long. Ordered an S3 saloon which is only £30pm extra so very happy with how this has turned out. Delivery should be within 10 weeks.

My BW 36 Golf R Estate is now at the 2nd build stage whatever that is and is due to be finished by the start of next week.

Then just however long it takes to get to the dealer, I've been told anywhere from 3 weeks to 6.

How long is it taking other peoples cars?

My Golf R Estate is now built. I have received the finance papers from the dealer complete with VIN. Should get it before the end of Sept!

Can any of you that have taken delivery of your R tell me what comes as standard with regards to Car Net? Beginning to wish I specced the Car Net Connect Apps but have been reading that there are one or two apps that still comes as standard. Assume that's not the Apple Car Play or any kind of screen mirroring though...keep finding conflicting info and am wondering if it's worth the 200 odd quid to get it enabled at the dealer

Fingers crossed mine arrives not long after yours then, the guy on the live chat quoted 6 weeks from build to delivery but it can't be that long.....

My Alfa is getting closer and closer to its next service, so I want the Golf before I need to pay for that.

I had my order number confirmed on 11 July and the car is now at Vindis Bedford and due for delivery on Wednesday or Thursday. It's been really painless for me, no pressure for the £500 deposit and updated when necessary.

What colour did you go for?

White, as I wasn't prepared to pay for a different colour. I have Lapiz on my current golf and it's a nightmare to keep clean!

I went for red on the same basis.

Can not wait for it to arrive.
