I had my order number confirmed on 11 July and the car is now at Vindis Bedford and due for delivery on Wednesday or Thursday. It's been really painless for me, no pressure for the £500 deposit and updated when necessary.
That is irritating (for me, not you) as we ordered 4th July from Vindis Bedford, updates have been only when we have chased and car is still in transit and looking unlikely to be delivered before the end of September!

I think it's just a bit of a lottery as I ordered on the 4th also but from Stockport VW and mine is still being built, so I'm not expecting it till mid October.

White, as I wasn't prepared to pay for a different colour. I have Lapiz on my current golf and it's a nightmare to keep clean!
Wait until you see how dirty the rear boot/bumper "sill" gets in white! Every single time my car is cleaned, within about an hour there's dirt already appearing from water dripping down.

It's the same on the Lapiz. I think the boot is an odd design, as it encourages water to sit on the boot lip!

I went for red on the same basis.

Can not wait for it to arrive.
I would have taken red but it was only white, black or Lapiz I was told. Had an Ibiza FR delivered today with 'free' paint. The missus isn't keen on the colour.... I couldn't give a s!?t! Although I am disappointed it doesn't have parking sensors!

I've had confirmation that my car is in the UK and the reg etc (from Vindis). But the initial payment on the paperwork is a lot higher than what was agreed.

Just wondered if anyone else has had this? Obviously I'll follow up with them.

Isn't this because the dealer is subsiding the initial payment, so they bank transfer you a contribution prior to VWFS charging you

Hi all,

Can anyone give us any advice please I've ordered a Golf R on lease on the 7th July.
Said it would be mid Sep to the end.
Still waiting!!!
I've asked them for a tracker number and they have said the dealership who it's been ordered with are fleet sales and won't give them the tracker number.
I'd like to know where I'm at as fed up waiting! has anyone else experienced this ??? or should I have a tracker number and am been fobbed off!!!!

Cheers
Chris

Who have you ordered through? Have they taken any money from you? Have they given you any paperwork? I ordered mine direct through Vindis Bedford fleet and they sent me the order number as soon as the finance check and order was confirmed. I ordered a Seat Ibiza through CUKVL and didn't receive anything! Tbh I wasn't overly fussed and didn't chase it up! There are some delays with the R estates, however they should still be able to give you the order number? Maybe someone on here knows the fleet that your provider is using and you can contact them directly.

Hi,
Ordered it through select car leasing. Signed paperwork and only paid the admin fee. And a holding deposit of £300 out get that back on delivery. Only wanted the number so could get an idea of when it's ready. Only delays on the estates then.
Cheers!

Ive been looking at possibly leasing my next car and after lots of searching ive finally settled on the R nav 5dr dsg....why are these cars so damn cheap to lease? great residuals i guess.

I am very tempted to buy but as i like to change my car every 2-3 years leasing seems to be a no brainer.

Ive never leased before and wonder if leasing is a cheaper option compared with outright purchase..im doing some man maths

Thanks

I got mine through Select. And yep they don't give you the tracking number. Was frustrating frown

Things start moving about 3 weeks before delivery when you get to sign all the official finance paper work. Then they arrange a delivery date for you. and then you sit there and wait patiently for the transporter to arrive.

Mine came down to Lancashire from Ayrshire

I finally 'pulled the trigger' and ordered mine from 'Select Car Leasing'. Paperwork signed and processing fee paid on Friday. I might have to wait until the end of February for delivery! (24 eeks) It could of course be sooner, but i'm not holding my breath. These next few months are going to go VERY slowly!

Hi

Crap that they don't give the tracker number! How is yours getting delivered or was it? Transporter!! I've been told it will be driven to me by someone who is retired e.g Police officer.
Don't like the idea of someone tear arsing the car before me. I'd sooner be the first to drive it!

Cheers

I think it depends on a few things, firstly if u want a new car. Secondly, what car you want, and thirdly how many miles you will do in one year.

If you need a new car and do low miles a lease may be the way to go. If you so high miles maybe your better owning it and running it until it's done 100k+

I do low miles approx 5k per year as i have motorcycles too and the use of my wifes car (im looking at leasing her next car soon too) but even thou i do approx 5k id like a limit of 10k just in case (plenty of 10k limits at the lease companies)

Leasing does look like my best option and then i can have the car i want every 2-3 yrs without all the px/selling faff...

Loving mine! Got worried last week when someone said it was cheap inside, but I think it's great inside and out. Noisy too!!

Fitted rear spacers straight away too (fronts are apparently "in the post"):

Car finally got off the train and is now awaiting a ship at the port of Emden!

Next phase, track the ship once I know it's on! Hopefully it doesn't sit for 2 weeks like VW say!
