Hi,

I'm having some concerns over my order.

I ordered my Golf R 3DR manual on the 15th of July with Vehicle Savers who then passed me onto National Fleet Services who are giving me the updates.

I was originally told the build week was week 36 which is the week commencing the 29th of August and expect delivery on the 3rd of October.

Since then it has been put back to week 40, which is the week commencing October 3rd and now to week 43 which is the week commencing the 24th of October and not due at the dealer until 21st of November. Nearly a 2-month delay, so far...

I understand there has been a factory closure which is not the leasing companies fault.

I would, however like an order number so I can check it with VW, they have said they don't get one. How can that be?

I would also be interested to hear how other peoples orders are progressing that ordered around the same time?
Exact same scenario for me, even down to the dates! I'm hoping they are estimates subject to improvement as I've seen others with orders after us or around the same time and they are getting their cars soon.
Also same dates - must have all got in the new price at the time they pushed the Vehicle Savers ad. So I ordered first week of July and now being told by NFS I'm week 43. Anyone thinking we are all being fed the same script...
Same here.

What are peoples thoughts on requesting a charge back from our card provider for the VS referral fee?

If they can't provide proof of the order then I have no reason to believe them, especially as it's been confirmed that VW provide tracking numbers. Before someone jumps on and says I'm backing out of a deal, or looking for a way out I'm returning my current lease this Friday and I'm without a car. The cost to keep it is too much as it will need a service and tyres, which is a waste of money if (a big IF) the Golf turns up in 2016. If anyone can help me track the car and I know it's coming soon, then I'll happily stick with it. VS > NFS> and then Alphabet. I wonder if it's worth trying Alphabet directly.

I was given an order number by Vehicle Savers for my R estate - this was earlier in the year though and supplied via Arval.

No harm in asking I guess, all they can say is no.

I might get in touch with Vehicle Savers then, as there the company I paid the admin fee to...

But it's National Fleet Services who are dealing with the actual order, so Vehicle Savers are probably just going to refer me to them who I'm getting nowhere with...

VS don't want to know.

NFS are just being defensive. Their latest e-mail is below. Which I feel is a blanket email.

I've explained that I know it's not their fault and it's down to VW, but if you can't provide proof of order then this isn't good enough.

We are pleased to advise a further update on your order recently placed with National Fleet Services.

Just a few points to assist with this process:-
•We want you in your vehicle ASAP
• It is not in our interest to delay your delivery
• We are in the hands of the manufacturer if there are delays
• If delays are going to cause you an issue then please discuss with us possible alternatives
• Please do not dispose of your current vehicle until such time as we have confirmed your delivery date
• If you do dispose of your vehicle then we are unable to loan you a vehicle or pay you any compensation
• If you would like assistance with a hire vehicle at competitive pricing then please let us know
• If you are in a leased vehicle you are generally able to extend with your current supplier. Please discuss with us if you need assistance
•If you are wanting to have a private plate on the vehicle then please discuss with us (it is your responsibility to ensure the plate is removed prior to returning the vehicle)
•When we book delivery with you we will notify you of a registration number
•You will need to arrange the insurance and send a copy of your certificate prior to the vehicle being released
•To prevent any delays of your vehicle, can the finance documents be returned if you have not already done so. If we have not yet sent them, they will follow shortly

The supplier has currently advised that your vehicle is due to be built week 44, which is the week commencing the 31st of October.

We would expect the vehicle to be at the dealer and available for delivery around week 48, which is week commencing the 28th of November. Please note this may be subject to change.

We will continue to update you approximately every 7-10 working days.

I've been looking at the tracker every day since ordering a month ago, and it's always been at stage 2 with the factory. Then I absent-mindedly opened this thread again and it jumped straight to your post. Just for a second, I thought, woohoo, that was quick! Then realisation set in... Bugger.

I'm hoping for the same, if not earlier - I did try to push for Saturday as I'll be picking mine up from the dealer - Sounded like it would be a struggle, but still waiting to hear - From what I can make out it sounds like the PDI's aren't done at the dealership so it has to go somewhere else before getting to the dealer...

Not too far from you, I'm just by J15 of M1 - that's as detailed as I'll be on here, don't want anyone reading this and paying me a visit to nick it :-)

Mine is still sat at Grimsby, wish it would hurry up and get to Stockport.

How long is everyone else's taking from port to dealer? To be fair it only arrived Wednesday morning.

Gap Insurance

What are people's thoughts on GAP for these leased Golf R's. I understand what GAP is designed to do but I'm unsure as to whether I need it for this lease.

My invoice shows the P11D value of the car at £34,845. Now, if I had paid that sum and I wrote the car off after a month, I can fully understand that the insurance might pay out less than £30k leaving me well out of pocket. However, VWFS fire about £7k at the car to create the cheap lease and therefore my actual invoice amount for the car is £26,664. It's my understanding that if the vehicle was a total loss, this £26,664 is the maximum VWFS could ask for it. If that's the case, then surely the "discount" is actually taking up the slack (i.e. the GAP).

To clarify with an example, if I wrote the car off on the way home my comprehensive insurance would be based on the £34,845 list price. If my insurance company only paid out £29k because they deem it had lost £6k in value in one day then I'd be massively out of pocket if I owed the full list price. However, my understanding is that the most I could owe is the invoice price of £26,664 and therefore my insurance would cover it and everything is squared away?

Hi,

Quick question -

Which company would you recommend? Personal lease prices are all roughly the same but who has provided the better service and who are to be avoided?
