I ordered my R DSG 5 DR from National Fleet in July time and was given a build of late October and delivery of late November.

I've asked for an update on delivery and the guy says he will get back to me with an update and will keep me abreast of developments every 7-10 days.

Is there anything I can do to complain / discount or am I just swallowing up the Ts & Cs I signed up to with NFS being tied behind VW build times?

Still can't believe it's almost 6 months on and I'm still without a car with no sign of when it's going to be delivered!

Thoughts on this, I'm not sure if I'm over-reacting or this is the norm with leasing as it's my first lease car.
It's not over-reacting at all, you should be getting an update. When I ordered mine, I got the Order Number straight away, and was able to track it through VWs online system (I ordered through VW dealer). I know some lease co's are not willing to pass the Order Number on (which is a bit stty). but you should ask.

Just written a strongly worded email explaining it's been nearly half a year without a reasonable update (having been quoted end of November for delivery, which if my car isn't delivered in the next three days is wrong) and without an order number from NFS.

Does it usually take this long?? I do recall the guy saying they didn't get order numbers when I asked for one back in August...I thought nothing of it but still find myself without a car!

NFS refuse to hand out order numbers, they say the finance company forbid it. I've asked.

I'm in a similar position, ordered around 13th July, should have originally had mine at the start of October. We're now approaching December and I still don't know when I'm getting it. My last update a week ago was it was "in transit". So I know it's at least been built. I'm expecting mine next week judging by other peoples timelines. The problem I have now is trying to sell my existing car at this time of year!

As for compensation or good will, if you'd ordered from a VW dealer, you would have probably gotten a courtesy car to use after 16 weeks and possibly some vouchers. Since it's a lease, you'll get your car and that's it!!

Been told it's at UK port-what's the time left on this until delivery now?

Also having ordered this in the middle of the year, what things am I to expect to get on this version of the car in terms of spec? Can someone list or link me a page? As a baseline, it'll be a 66 plate, VW Golf R DSG with Cadiz rims.

£9058 for the equivalent deal that people were getting for £6500 in the last wave of deals, amortising to £377.42 a month, 'mine' amortises to £110 less a month. Of course with the lower excess mileage charge too...

Could I ask what the figures where on the best deals?

In the absence of a time machine it's about the best I can do. 😀

I got a Red Golf R Estate on a 6+23 10k miles (with CarNet as an option) 7.2ppm excess mileage charge.

£220.80 per month - totalling £6403.20. Amortised to £266.80.

The newer cars should have the winter pack and nav as standard, but the one you've been offered is likely to have been a cancelled order, due to the horrendously long wait times the people who ordered in June had to suffer/are still suffering...

1500 down and 215 per month for 10k pa.

Can you wait for Jan? They always seem to do a cracking deal on something at the beginning of each quarter.

I ordered a 3dr in July so missed the better deals but mine was 3+23 with £829 down and £276 per month for 10,000 miles per year.

I've just ordered Tornado Red Estate on 3+35, £780 down and £260 per month Amortised to £274/month 6k mpa & 6.9ppm. Includes Nav & Winter pack for delivery mid January.
Would have ordered earlier in the year and in hindsight I should have done considering the build time delays, my Octavia VRS lease doesn't end until mid-Jan so had to hold off ordering.
Should be a good upgrade on a VRS though.biggrin

It was a 2017 car with winter pack and nav, however went up £25 quid today (apparently) as last day of deal. Passed it up in favour of waiting for Q1 deals. See what comes.

3 weeks! I've seen people getting them within a week. Unless their status was wrong or behind.
