I'm really struggling with Android Auto since the update. It's just not working at all any more. Won't even connect to the car. Not what I needed 2 weeks before a trip to Ireland.

Just had my car checked over before it goes back on Wednesday frown

I need two new front tyres or they will charge me £140 each.

What do VW let you get away with regards new rubber. I will put part worns on it in OE spec if I can but if i cant find any can I stick Firestones on front in correct ratings even if they dont match the Bridgestone rears?

Thanks

Matt

how long does it stay 'with the factory' for? my new Tiguan R has been 'with the factory' for 3 weeks now with no build week confirmed
Anyone ? was ordered 1 month ago now and still 'with the factory' is this standard? never ordered a new car before

Part worns should be fine. If you're on 18" wheels you can usually pick up a pair for about £80 on eBay! Think the tyres have to be premium branded ones.

OK cheers for info

Going to struggle to find any for Wed so will chuck on some Toyo or Avon at £70 each fitted

Thanks again

I believe it will update a couple of weeks before it's due to be built with a build week. And the build week is actually the start of a two week window in which your car will be built. Once it leaves the factory, it can take 4 weeks to reach the dealer.

Just written a strongly worded email explaining it's been nearly half a year without a reasonable update (having been quoted end of November for delivery, which if my car isn't delivered in the next three days is wrong) and without an order number from NFS.

Does it usually take this long?? I do recall the guy saying they didn't get order numbers when I asked for one back in August...I thought nothing of it but still find myself without a car!
NFS refuse to hand out order numbers, they say the finance company forbid it. I've asked.

I'm in a similar position, ordered around 13th July, should have originally had mine at the start of October. We're now approaching December and I still don't know when I'm getting it. My last update a week ago was it was "in transit". So I know it's at least been built. I'm expecting mine next week judging by other peoples timelines. The problem I have now is trying to sell my existing car at this time of year!

As for compensation or good will, if you'd ordered from a VW dealer, you would have probably gotten a courtesy car to use after 16 weeks and possibly some vouchers. Since it's a lease, you'll get your car and that's it!!
Same timelines, was meant to be early October. Last two updates have been saying early January. Surely I should have details and be asked to arrange insurance etc like my previous leases.

I honestly don't think these cars exist at the price we've been quoted.

Dunno what's happened to yours but mine is being delivered tomorrow (bang on 22 weeks since the dealer placed the order), so provided it arrives, they obviously do exist. Hopefully you get word on yours soon.

Through VS and NFS? I ordered as soon as the deal went live.

It has been set as build week 49, which is 5th December for the last 2/3 updates. I asked yesterday if it is now confirmed as built, as surely they should know this by now, they can't confirm that it has. I expect yet another delay as I've been told to expect a call later. Perhaps it's because it's night blue which I know is being discontinued. I sent a polite e-mail claiming I doubt my car has been ordered as it's been too long now from looking on here and on VW forums etc. I've been patient up until now as I believed it was out of their control, but after seeing all these cars being delivered I'm jealous. smile

My R has just pinged up that it needs its first oil service in a month, what are people paying?

Assume it needs to go to a main dealer?

Yeah bud. I ordered on the 7th July, the order was placed by the dealer on the 13th July. Mine is a Night Blue 3dr so I don't think it's the paint colour. It could be because I went for "lease spec" (no options). What did spec did you go for?

I was told last Tuesday that it was at the dealers and that delivery would be the 14th. I was given my reg number to get it insured. I would chase them up as I was the same as you, seeing folk ordering after me getting their cars delivered. There was a guy who ordered the same time and me and he's been in his car for over 6 weeks!

Strange, as mine is lease spec 3 door manual night blue. smile

It's only the last week I've realised the inconvenience of not having a bigger car, as I've been using the MX5. With a family trip planned I could do with bigger car now. Go on then - might as well post a picture when you can.

Additional delays mentioned in September.

Thread is a bit quiet, but might explain the sporadic deliveries.

Is anyone anticipating any better offers come Jan? At the moment best I can find is £266 on a 9+23 10k pa - I'm quite happy to wait and see if anything better comes along but with the facelift due (I believe orders from March) I'm wondering if deals will dry up?

Given the order books for the current Golf R are now closed, I think the only offers you will see will be for cancelled orders or dealers selling stock.

Ah, I didn't realise they'd closed the orders books already thanks.

Even if they had not I would imagine a 9 month wait due to past orders...

Bang on 22 weeks after the order was placed by the dealer (I ordered the week before), my car has finally arrived. My first VAG car so getting used to it's wee foibles but loving it so far, especially the electronic hand brake and auto hold.

Have you spoke to Driven Leasing? I know they have some R stock left but unsure on prices.
