love these Spielberg 19's, very smart. sadly at circa £30+ per month, its not really worth it.

Still looking for pics/vids of the interior that's standard upholstery, not leather...

Mines at the dealership, has been for a week. Tried like crazy to get it registered before the tax increase but VW were having none of it!
Hopefully be available next week.

Just a basic spec, 5 dr DSG in the new Yellow, Just sold my Lapiz Blue one, looking forward to the new gearbox and the new dash.
They have a god spec but a bit disappointed you don't get the keyless entry and keyless go as standard like you do in the GTD.

How much tread need to be on the tyres when the car is returned? I have 5mm left on all 4 of mine and I'm eyeing up a full set of pilot sport 4s as they're only 90 a corner at the moment and then storing the standard tyres before sticking them back on when I return the car. What do you think? Is 5mm enough?

Legal is enough, surely.

I know any replaced tyres need to be up to OEM standard but in terms of tread depth, 1.6mm+

Surely unless it's stated specifically in the lease terms, anything that would pass an mot or is within legal limits is acceptable?

The only thing to look out for is uneven wear due to incorrect pressures. Whether they try and make out other uneven wear (from camber etc) is due to that I don't know. They shouldn't as its quote obvious which is which but the guides are very vague

Ok great, I might well do it then. I've heard good things about the PS4 and it seems the standard tyres wont last for the 20k miles anyway. Anyone else done anything like this?

I am at the end of my lease and I have had to put on fronts at around 11k and backs on last week. I PS4s on the front and thought they were way better than the Potenzas that were on before. So your plan makes sense. I put Potenzas on when I replaced the backs as I only had 900 miles to go so not worth the extra expense.

Where are you sourcing the tyres at that price?

They're on blackcircles.com for that. That's mail order. They want 15 a corner for fitting so I'll take it somewhere local. Can't imagine it'll be more than 30 to fit 4 tyres

My pre-facelift estate turned up on Friday..... Absolutely stunning car. The wife really likes it so win win all round as she does a fair few miles. Showed her the launch control and I think she wee'd her pants a bit and then giggled for about 5 minutes.

It's great how they have made a normally boring 4 pot turbo sound decent. I know much of that is piped in but I've disabled the interior noise with my "individual" setting and you get to hear the exhaust burble and pop much better.

I've been pining for an RS4 estate for years but never justified running a V8 around London but this little Golf is like a stealthy undercover RS4 with MPG figures that don't make you cry. I love the fact it's so stealthy. To the average person it looks like a boring family estate.

Also noted that if you go around a corner too fast the pre-tension seatbelts yank you into the seat......
