Hi.

I would like to lease a VW Golf R Estate before Christmash. Doubts I have is if I can order a Golf R with some options, like the blue colour, the rims, etc. Do they charge you the total cost of the option, or do they charge you just a part of the cost?

Do Volkswagen dealers lease cars, or do they only give the option of buying it and finance it?

Thank you so much

You have to pay in full for your options, they aren't reduced in anyway annoyingly. Also many of these lease deals on VW's are from dealers direct.

I'm currently looking at getting an estate, but would like to add a fair few options - would I be better off PCP or lease? Most of these lease deals just appear to be for base models.

Ok, thank you. So I would have to go for less options, but even though, it is much cheaper a lease than a PCP, I was looking in the VW website and for two years is 450 pounds every month and a deposit of 7k, so expensive

Divide the cost of your options by the monthlies. Annoying as you end up paying for the options in full and essentially giving them back to VW for free at the end of the term. But then I really want a grey DSG hatch with the Spielberg alloys evil

Had anyone made the switch from the R hatchback to estate - and got any feedback on the difference??

Got an offer on the estate lined up which works out the same as my current hatchback lease which is due back in September (£350 amortised - Tumeric Yellow, maintained, 10kpa). Thing is I don't really need an estate if I'm honest, but I just think the offer's pretty good. Can't say I've ever found myself wishing I had more boot space in the hatchback, and not sure if the extra length takes something away from the overall looks of the car? So will I end up 'missing' my current hatchback too much?

Torn between going for the estate or holding off for some similar hatchback deals (with everything crossed!).

That's ridiculous, the cheapest leases come in at £7k all in!

In the glovebox under where the CD player and SD card slots are there is a little wheel with dots on and what looks like a snowflake. Anyone know what that does?

At a guess, it will be a vent off the AC to blow cold air into the glove box?

To answer some of the questions here.

Glove box is cooled according to brochure

According to some pictures I have seen heated seats are standard - it had the fabric seat we get and a button for the heating on the dash - I don't know for sure but think this is the winter pack

Options on a lease push the price up massivly - hence why a lot of us (including me) have gone for boring white paint and added no options.

The estate according to some forums sounds better than the hatch although on the golf r 7 estate two of the four pipes are not connected. They are fake. Unsure if this applies to the golf r 7.5

And anyone who has a hatch / estate r we need pictures!

Just ordered a grey estate, 3+23 at £304 for 10k miles - only option was metallic paint as I don't like white cars.

Delivery end of May.

They felt the same on a sedate test drive. I like the way the estate looks.

The R hatch has quite a bit less boot space (higher boot floor) than a regular Golf because of the rear diff. On the estate there seems to be space in front of the spare wheel well for it to go so not compromised at all. It's a really useful size, and now I have child seats in there most of the time I really appreciate being able to get things in without dropping the rear seats.

Thats a similar price I got for Lapis blue - as much as I love that colour went for boggo white. My paperwork says 8 - 10 weeks - but I am expecting 12 - hoping it arrives before my car ins renewal of 23rd June.

Anyone had and order numbers yet? How long do they normally take?

Went for Lapis blue myself, I couldn't face a plain white car, even though I know I'm wasting the money really smile

Not had 100% confirmation yet, but was told my car will be built in 5 weeks and delivered in 7/8.

I wanted a car with decent capacity (for dive gear) and, whilst the standard Golf is OK, I thought the estate was really roomy for the general size of the car.

I probably should of just gone for it - but at the moment the missus only knows I have a golf estate!

I have had confirmation by order is secured per email below on wednesday.

You have been Approved on finance. I have everything I require from you. The car has been secured.

Once the car has been put into our stock from Volkswagen we will send a tracking number for you to track the build progress of the car.

Me and a mate are also both in the same situation, waiting on slots, however he wants it ASAP and I don't want it till September, so will be interesting to see who gets priority.
