Yes I had my 5C last week for build week 23rd

Looks like it arrived Saturday but no stage 6 yet.

Ok will do
Cheers. It was an option that I would have wanted!
This may make you laugh. Our friend emailed me a pic before it left the dealership (nice touch).

Looked at the photo closely - they have forgotten to debadge it!

(though they have offered to pay my local dealer to do it - I'm going to live with it for a few days and decide...)

I wonder if any of you guys that have your Golf R's could do me a favour?

I've had mine for 2 months now and its currently back with the dealer for various warranty fixes. One of which is the exhaust valves. When I swap from D to S the valves open and the revs rise - all good! But there's an annoying squeak coming from the valves when it does open and close.

I recorded a video of the noise here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iOLs7XIk69k

Can any of you go and test yours to see if it does the same? Dealer and their technician is standing by the fact that it's normal and they won't look into fixing it but I don't think it is.

Most of the people on this thread will only have the 2 working exhausts - not sure if they will open up or not?

Oh dear! That's a shame, I wouldn't mind that option to have.

Presumably it would be at my own cost though. smile

What time are they meant to be delivering it?

It's arrived.

Initial thoughts after an hours spin and taking it easy (technically you are supposed to break in the engine, though that detail is buried on page 315 of the handbook and not one of the first things they expect you to read!)

  • Boy it's quick in the midrange, perfect for Yorkshire dales roads...
  • Pootles round town nicely. Eco mode and radar cruise control are very smooth, though I keep switching it off by accident
  • Sounds good for a 4 pot; firm ride on 18s but not as bad as I thought it might be
  • Lots of buttons. It's similar enough to my old Audi but not quite the same
  • Not a massive amount of steering feedback (and I don't like the flattened wheel)

Got mine yesterday! Excellent drive back through the Peak District. First impressions are really good. Its generally quiet but makes a good noise when you want it to. The seats are great, nice place to sit. The suspension is softer than I was expecting but it handles very well. What a great deal! Hope you all enjoy yours.

On the point of debadging, I did read somewhere that the front grill's badge is part of the grill, so would just leave a hole in the grill where it would normally be if it was to be debadged. I'm sure the badges are quite discreet anyway...

Just spoke to LiveChat and my car was on the way to the dealer yesterday, so it's arriving today!
