Edit to add: that was a slightly pointless post, the point of it was meant to be - has anyone actually seen many R estates on the road? I've done loads of miles in the past few months and have only seen the one LSG.
I still haven't seen a single R Estate yet. The one I had delivered was the first and only one I've ever seen and that includes VW dealerships.Edited by TeaNoSugar on Friday 10th June 15:33
As a side note does anyone find the stop-start system is really sensitive? Mine sometimes turns off when I'm still doing like 1-2mph coming to a halt which is a bit annoying in traffic so I've started to just turn it off.
One other thing is that the dsg box occasionally seems to get flummoxed and does nothing for a couple of seconds, followed by something unexpected before it goes back to normal. Hard to explain with an example, but very odd - sometimes it does feel as if there's an awful lot of "computing" going on behind the scenes (if that makes sense?).

Yes, very sensitive, although I've got used to it and can sort of manage it by being really gentle on the brakes if you don't want the engine to stop. What's annoying is when you have to pull up a bit quicker (but not to a complete stop), and the system switches off the engine and then immediately starts it up again! Also it sometimes decides to disable the stop-start function for no reason I can see.

The reason for it not working could be due to the lights and air conditioning on at the same time. The car needs enough power to turn itself on and with the air conditioning on it can't restart the car. Got my red one delivered yesterday, had a thrash already (no running in nonsense) and it is as superb as expected. Most impressive is how solid it feels, very similar to my Audi A3 I ran 5 years ago and definitely better than the wife's 1Series in terms of premium feel.
The auto hold takes a bit of getting used to, and I have caught the car out a few times when slowing at junctions (but not stopping) as it stays in 3rd gear even at 10mph so there can be a bit of hesitation, but I've already learned to flick the paddle down one gear and just bomb off. It's a complicated interior, too many buttons which I need to learn, but not really an issue. I've already programmed the Individual Mode so I get the race gearbox but not the noise, and the Carplay was easy to set up and is intuitive to use.
Those who are still waiting, and haven't yet experienced one, are in for a treat. Superb car.
