Golf 1.6TDI smoke from turbo.

Stopped the car (Golf, 1.6tdi, 2010) today after 2 hours in start stop traffic, the fan was on and there was light smoke coming from what I think is the turbo ( the middle part.)
It looks like it's kind of wet but it seems like dry oil, but there's no drips under the car and nothing on the under tray. Stopped the car and let it cool down and restarted, it seems to have stopped.
It's not used any coolant nor oil in the last year.
Anyone seen this before.
