How fast is an auto 3.2 DB7?
Discussion
This forum does have some contributions from DB7 owners, but most topics concern Aston Martins built since 2003 at the Gaydon factory.
It may be worth you asking your question, on the Aston Martin Owners Club forum.
I know that a 3.2 Mercedes-Benz Coupe auto with 220 bhp, does 0 to 60 mph in 7 seconds, with a top speed of 150 mph.
Perhaps the 3.2 auto DB7 can do better, because it probably weighs less.

ok..fail to see the relevance of the Mercedes ...?
Identical capacity engine and automatic gearbox. Only trying to help.
What is the bhp of the Aston Martin 3.2 engine?
Edited.
I now see that the engine is a Jaguar straight six supercharged 335 bhp.
The performance therefore must be much quicker, than the same capacity Mercedes.

I am, however, thinking about the purchase of a V8 Vantage with a manual gearbox...despite 'only' having a Jaguar engine!...are these 'proper' Astons?....
The V8 Vantage manual is the perfect Aston for many of us.
No need for the 'only' because Jaguar have made some terrific engines.
In fact the origins of the V8 Aston Martin engine, came from the Jaguar AJ-8.

If you can find any Jaguar parts in the Aston V8 let us know. Its an Aston only engineYes they are proper Astons.

I stand corrected...I was under the impression the Aston V8 engine was a 'tuned' Jaguar AJ8...but actually it's a bona fide race engine...very interesting!...I will keep you posted on my foray into Aston territory!
Probably best to buy the Bible if considering Gaydon carshttp://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...
