How are you feeling about changing the R for a cupra?

I think if it was the middle of summer I'd be giving it less thought. I know it's daft though as I've driven 2wd cars for decades without giving it a second thought and it's not like haldex 4wd on summers was any use in the snow anyway.

Anyone else order theirs through Stoneacre Seat Peterborough?

I ordered my Dynamic Grey 5dr Manual on 5th September and at the time the dealer was great. I've had to chase loads over the last few weeks as the delivery kept slipping and now I am struggling to get any form of update. I haven't been able to get the order number or Status update from them for weeks now so Seat UK Customer Services couldn't track down the vehicle either.

Starting to get concerned that my order may have fallen into "cancelled" by Seat braket.

Yes I did, Stoneacre are crap! The are full of bull****. Unlikey to buy from them again.

I have now managed to get order no. Car is built and waiting for a boat. Was originally told end of Nov delivery, latest is could be up to another 4 weeks.

I have loved most things about the R, apart from the lack of space for the dogs, hence the ST version coming.

I am not too fussed about loosing the 4wd, though the standing starts were phenomenal if I needed to change a lane, burn the odd Porsche etc!! As you say, if we have adverse weather the Golf's tyres would mean the 4wd would loose much of its usefulness.

It will also be good to have std Nav, heated seats which I don't have now as I have an early R.

Getting hold of Jason was a nightmare and he never called you back.

Customer service at its finest (NOT)

Finally got my paperwork from Carly - took a week as it had to go back to VWFS to get the excess mileage rate reduced back to the quoted 6p.

Tomorrow, I will be calling Leaseplan to arrange the Golf R collection.

The R ate a C45 AMG for its supper tonight - tasted nice that!

David
Hi Sumo,

That is a little concerning, although ultimately not a problem as it's been rectified, but I thought the excess mileage rate issue was only affecting cars leased via leasing companies, as opposed to direct with a dealer? Is also the first time I've read that Carly has had this issue too?

I ordered with Carly so I'll drop her an email shortly to confirm this information. My car should be in Stockport in a week or so then it's game time and I don't want to be waiting any longer! :-)

Thanks, C.

I ordered mine from Jason on 9th September.

Apparently mine was week 47 and built last week. Should be with them in a couple of weeks.

Mine was dynamic grey, Jason said it hadn't changed but I don't believe him. He then assured me dynamic grey and white were very similar lol.

I don't think he likes delivering bad news so ignores people.

I think I will get a white car before Xmas in reality.

I was also 47 according to seat UK. He told me two weeks, two weeks a go so clearly he was being dishonest.

Also insists no issue with dynamic but he reckons he ordered them before the cut off then filled them with customers which I reckon is true by the way things panned out.

Slightly tempted to back out, don't feel particularly valued as a customer!!!

Doubting what they will be like if I have any problems with the car too.

I'm unsurprised about so many others getting issues with Stoneacre and Jason as I have had essentially zero communication from him ever since I ordered the car. If I wanted an update it was always me calling the dealer where 99% of the time I didn't get a call back, from anyone. My mate has also ordered from Stonearce a few days after me and in Dynamic, no doubt he is getting a white car and hasn't been told.

Literally the worst dealer experience I have ever had and I am also worried what will happen if they screw up my initial rental rebate or if there is an issue with the car.

Anyone else thinking that the reason for the lack of customer service to the lease customers is that they have given away most of their margin in favour of volume and turnover for the quarter?

Hi Guys,

Has anyone else with build week 44 had an update on the delivery date of their car?

Thanks,

Take it to another dealership. You're under no obligation to take the car back to the supplying dealer. SEAT pay for all the work, the dealer just claims it back.

I ordered from CVL, the broker, and as is well documented on this thread the customer service has been non existent. By way of contrast, DM Keith, the supplying dealership have been fantastic. Was far better to deal direct with the dealership and cut out the broker.

I haven't had any contact from CVL since they booked in delivery of the vehicle. All my updates on initial rental and cashback have come through the dealership

Actually I do lie, I've had a sales email to take on the maintenance package through CVL £24 a month and a 6p excess mileage charge... no thanks.

Just saw a dynamic grey ST in the flesh. To be fair it looked better than any other colour/bodystyle combination I've seen so far.

I finally managed to speak to one of the managers at Stoneacres who was very helpful.

Sadly the news I got wasn't what I wanted, my order has also been impacted by the "Seat Colour Changing Fiasco" and mine is now on it's way as Nevada White and not Dynamic Grey. I have to say I'm not happy, a very poor effort from SEAT.

Can anyone who has ordered a Nevada White sell me on it, as I've never really been a fan of white motors.

Might just sack it off completely and wait for something else to come along.

I don't know if this is a positive or negative to you but I see a standard Cupra regularly on my way in to work and it often looks white depending on the morning light so all you are really losing by going to Nevada is a bit of blueness in certain lights afaict. My Cupra is Monsoon so perhaps someone with Dynamic can confirm or correct me?
Whilst I totally understand your annoyance it would be a shame to miss out on what is a fantastic car.

I would be insisting on the compensation offered by Lookers to their clients effected by this - £250 of store vouchers plus another £50 for lack of communication/service.

Regarding colour, its a personal thing but I bet you would find it tricky to get another car of the same better performance or value for the cost of these leases.

Paperwork returned and VWFS have given Carly the go-ahead!

I have booked the Golf R to be collected next Wednesday morning, so the Cupra ST is being booked for the afternoon!
