Seen as you two have been doing your homework, would you mind sharing details.
I could do with knowing the PCD, centre bore, offset and width if possible. I've found some 5x112 17" for cheap enough, but not sure a 7.5" would be quite wide enough.
Hi Jacko, not sure mate tbh. I'll have a look round and see what I can find out. Might be worth looking on seatcupra.net. I know jonwm is on there as well so maybe those guys can share any info on wheel sizes. I could do with knowing the PCD, centre bore, offset and width if possible. I've heard nothing from CVL since 12th October when they said it was in transit
I chased yesterday - nothing from CVL but the DM-K said my car is due (or may already be arriving) in the country at Tyne port, they are just waiting for the status updates to say they are unloaded and passed customs so they can raise transport orders and produce the documents. Its normally 7-10 days at that point. If anyone is signing docs and having their car delivered, remember one crucial fact...you can't take delivery of the car until the 14 day cooling-off period has expired. The paperwork is supposed to be sent out by the dealers when the car is being shipped so that the 14-days expires when the car is registered and the PDI has been carried out, therefore causing no delays. If, as has happened with me, that doesn't happen...then you have a car sitting at a dealership that can't be delivered, because legalities!
I could collect, but York is quite literally the opposite end to the country for me.
At least DM Keiths are now trailering the car down instead of driving it down as they do with all the lease cars.
One more week to wait.......

Do you have your order number? If so ring Seat Customer Services on 0500 222 222 - they can tell you everything including what ship it will have left on.You can use the marine traffic website to track the vessel by its hull name. If you cant, tell me the ship name and I can track it here at work as our company has full access to the site (I'm an Applications engineer dealing with the marine world so we need access to this type of info to see where the ships are that have our engines in).

I received a letter from SEAT a week after the car had arrived stating that the 14 day cooling off period was from receipt of that letter. So technically I could of given the car back 3 weeks after receiving it for no cost.I could collect, but York is quite literally the opposite end to the country for me.

Did you deal directly with a dealership or through a broker? Did you sign the paperwork at the dealership or remotely and then email/fax?The cynical side of me thinks that DM Keiths don't want to offer the 14-day cooling off from when they deliver as if I decide that I don't like the car, then I can give it back with no penalty but they are then lumbered with a 2nd hand car.

I spoke to DM Keith direct last Friday and they said it was at their dealership but because of the vwfs mileage cost saga dragging on it was taking longer to get finance docs out to CVL then sent to us and then we have to send them back etc. Thought I might've heard something by now from CVL
I spoke to a lady called Sue at CVL yesterday who was fairly defensive at first as I said I wasn't happy with the level of communication between dealer>CVL>me.I had done all the leg work for this so feel like CVL have had to do bugger all for their money - she eventually saw my point of view and was then more than happy to try and sort it all out ASAP. It was Gary at DM Keith who admitted that they had been slack in getting the finance forms from VWFS - just say that you'll accept the 'new' mileage charge of 8.3p and not 7.2p but that you'd like a full tank of petrol as recompense. If you've not signed any docs yet then it will be 14-days after that the dealership will send the car out. I'm still not sure that this is correct, but not sure who else to ask with an informed knowledge of contracts law that govern the distance selling and cooling-off period.
Consumer contract regs are primarily there to protect consumers. Delaying goods beyond ccr threshold diminishs the protection to consumer. Thresholds (14days) are based on receipt of goods but also the date you enter contract. Entering contract followed by delayed receipt of goods is the grey area. Pretty sure ruling would be in favour of consumer (circumstances dependant oc)
distance selling regs are pre 2014, as such not applicable here.

Thanks for clarifying - it's the grey area I sit in that clearly can't be controlled by regs (currently).distance selling regs are pre 2014, as such not applicable here.

As it turns out, DM Keith can't deliver until next Tuesday anyway and that takes it to...you've guessed it...14 days after signing the contract.

Technically there shouldn't be a grey area due to regs. how they are applied and enforced is the tricky part...As it turns out, DM Keith can't deliver until next Tuesday anyway and that takes it to...you've guessed it...14 days after signing the contract.

Firstly apologies for the off topic post, but does anyone who has already taken delivery of their Cupra know what the Seat recommended winter wheel / tyre size is (as per usual door sticker)?
Thanks,
I haven't got mine yet but the winter tyre size should be the same as the summer tyre size probably. They're 235/35R19. I've been pricing winter tyres myself and that is the size I put in to the online search on tyre websites. Hope this helps. Thanks,

Correct tyre size in 17 is 225/45 R17. If you've got 18s, it'll be 225/40 R18.
One major caveat is that I've not got my car yet, so despite being pretty confident, there's a small chance I go to fit the wheels and they go 'clonk' into the calipers!
ETA: 7.5J is fine for 225 tyres. It's the normal width

Hi All,
I visited Carly @ Lookers SEAT yesterday and they had about 5 or 6 Cupra 290 Blacks all awaiting prep and no doubt delivery so I thought I'd upload a few pictures for you all. I think they had one of every colour as well, which helps those who are still waiting to see what their own car will look like.
Hopefully this works as intended:
Dynamic Grey:
I tried to take this one so you get to see the Dymanic Grey against the white behind it:
Alor Blue (although it definitely looks more turquoise-blue in colour to me in person):
Silver:
Monsoon Grey:
White (with Sub-8 Pack, skirts, etc) - Love those Brembo's!:
Hopefully that is all of them and none are duplicates.
Also, two of the cars had names of those owners on them, so if you want to know if possibly one is yours then let me know and I can mention the two names. If not, not to worry!
Enjoy, C.

Hi,
I forgot to mention that Carly confirmed that the side skirts are £585 including VAT, painted and fitted, for those who want them on.
I do intend on going back to her with that link someone previously posted where you can get the side skirts cheaper and see if she can match the price then add paint and fit before I take delivery of mine.
I test drove a 280 again, although it was in ST guise this time round. Still a fantastic car and very very quick indeed.
