Just doing the little ones night feed so thought I post up my initial thoughts after a couple days of ownership!

Handover from Lookers was spot on, my mats were already fitted. It's a decent looking motor!

Really enjoying the car so far.
Plenty of power, the Cupra noise hasn't got annoying for me yet!
Ride is good, even on the 19's - I'm guess I'm comparing it to my previous Type R which was pretty harsh. Seats very comfy, warm up quickly!
Infotainment is good, Nav seems to be ok apart from the crap postcode entry. Sound system is fine for me.
The LED Headlights are brilliant.

Gearbox feels a abit notchy at the moment - probably still bedding in I guess? Dunno...
I agree with the speedo comment too!

Just need to sort my dipping mirror for parking, points towards the sky when I select reverse at the moment - any ideas? Will probably have a flick through the manual at some point.

Anyway for those still waiting, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Shout out to whoever posted the original deal and Imdeman who hooked up Carly's details.

smile
Glad I went with Carly after reading this. She's been great so far, constantly keeping me updated with progress and sounds like the handover for you was effortless.

My last update was from last Tuesday, it had been built and was due to be shipped so had moved to Status Code 30. This takes a week, then a further two weeks to reach Stockport by transporter.

Hopefully I'll have mine maybe the 2nd week of December. My build week was 46 for those working to a similar timescale.

In terms of the speedo, I thought this when I drove a 280. It's like 30mph is where 10mph is on most cars and 80mph is where 50mph usually is so a quick glance down makes you think sh!t I'm travelling faster than I should!

Glad you're enjoying it mate!

I've also ordered from Carly and mine was also built this week. Carly emailed me to say it's due to be at the UK port in a week to a week and a half.

Ours are probably on the same ship and maybe even the same transporter to Stockport.

now that i have finally had my cupra delivered I can say that CVL earned precisely £0 of their admin fee. Absolutely useless company in terms of communication and looking after their customers. Some people commented back in July that I was being too harsh but I do feel vindicated having heard other's experience.

I feel sorry for DM Keith because their service has been spot on, CVL have probably caused them all sorts of hassle with this deal.

Exactly the same and haven't even got my car yet. I got an email from someone who said ask any questions, I did and she didn't respond. I was also completely miss-led in terms of expected delivery time. If you do not know don't say 'within 4 week, for sure'.

Ditto. This isn't my first lease and in comparison to the other companies I've used CVL have been rubbish.

Thankfully my contact with them has been minimal but the fact I had specific requests which never got passed from sales to admin then to the dealer has been irritating. Add in the impersonal batch emails for extra annoyance.

Cherry on the cake was when I noticed the bank account details on the paperwork was wrong. I emailed CVL to say send a blank form and I'll correct and they more or less replied by saying "here's the dealers number, sort it out yourself"... what was that admin fee for exactly?

Wessex aren't much better. They have an online portal where they add "notes" to your account and you get an email. Notes generally say B/W etc.

My note was set to "Dealer update: Car due in December" - yesterday I got an email "a new note has been added to your account." I excitedly login hoping to see a delivery date and they had changed the note to "Dealer update: Car due in December" - OH SMASHING, THE SAME BLOODY NOTE.

Question for anyone who has already taken delivery. How annoying is the sound actuator thing in a Cupra or sport mode? I was debating whether to ask the dealer to lower the volume with vagcom during its PDI

My 184 has a similar system which is bareable until you get onto motorways. I imagine the Cupra one is louder

Sounds ok to me! Doubt think it will bother me, only been a few days though.

Hi all - Couple of little niggles - The alarm has gone off twice randomly now because the boot seems to be unlatching. Assume no one else has had this? Also - I've got the lights above the rear seats set to the middle option which I think should be on when doors open but nothing is happening unless I switch the light to one of the manual options. Am i missing something in a setting or are these faulty?
My rear roof lights needed to be switched to auto, they were not working with the doors when I collected, try flicking the switch over.
Sorry to be a total bore but could someone just confirm they're getting the interior lights on when the doors open when the switch is set like this? Am I missing something?

That looks like the correct position for lights on, when opening doors. Strange if it doesn't work. Didn't notice that big switch when I test drove - bit old school that thing!

My Cupra is now landed with registration and waiting for me to sign docs but still not sold the CC or had a sniff of interest. Does anyone know if I would get my deposit back if I was to back out now? I can't be paying for insurance, road tax on three cars when we only need two so I may be forced to back out of the deal art this rate. Would be a real shame but I've got to be sensible. WBAC want to give me £1200 less than it's worth and i'm sure they would kick the offered buy price down even further If I took it to them, not that a would but I believe that's a tactic they use.

That's generally what a deposit is, if you back out, you lose it. Certain companies may be happy to refund though, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

Got my Dynamic Grey hatch coming tomorrow finally.

Ordered through Freedom at the start of August, they've not been great communication wise and I've done most of the digging and info finding myself thanks to this thread. Thankfully managed to avoid the Dynamic Grey to White fiasco, think I must've ordered just in time.

Will post up pics when its here.

I know, but with this being my first lease deal with no prior experience of ordering a car, with no fixed delivery date and with a 7.5K car to sell I was interested to know if anyone has been in a similar position, and got the deposit back. If someone wanted this deal that might be the way to do it, if I've got a replacement customer lined up then they should be happy to refund you'd think.
Alas, someone has called today for a look at the CC tomorrow, so all being well if he kicks me in the nuts enough i'll sell it and get the Leon.

I have a mk2 FR+. Getting absolutely humped by WBAC. About £1500 less than I could get privately. Key word being could. I just want it away so I can enjoy the cupra and never worry about 'owning' another car again. I'd be miffed if the Cupra deal wasn't so good. Can't be bothered with the tire kickers etc.

Bad time of year to be selling a car privately. Buyers are rarely in the mood for looking at cars on driveways in poor light when it's no doubt raining. Add in the cost of Christmas and private buyers are few and far between.

If all the usual WBAC type places aren't looking too great then try contacting a fleet buyer (depending on age, mileage, condition etc) or even taking round some of the local garages to see if any of them are interested for their used stock. Diesel VAG cars are bread and butter for these places.

Finally got round to signing and returning my paperwork, only took me a week. Also called VWFS to arrange hand back of the Golf. £299 to return it early which doesn't sting too much. I did try to get them to shift it down a bit pointing out my loyalty in taking another VWFS car but the boss said no as I was already paying naff all for the Golf.

Feel a wee bit emotional saying good bye to the Golf. Don't really get attached to cars these days and never thought I was attached to this one but I definitely feel something..... i suppose it could be indigestion or maybe wind.

Finally got my paperwork from Carly - took a week as it had to go back to VWFS to get the excess mileage rate reduced back to the quoted 6p.

Tomorrow, I will be calling Leaseplan to arrange the Golf R collection.

The R ate a C45 AMG for its supper tonight - tasted nice that!
