All seems quite normal for a VAG order to me. You spend weeks, if not months hearing little at the beginning due to their long lead times. Weekly updates saying "no change, still waiting" would be annoying.

The lack of updates is due to the Factory being shut at the moment.

Will be re-opening 5th September so hopefully some news soon after!
I think they're back in today AJB is in the know and I'm sure I saw a post on another forum with that date

Oh no!! I've committed money from my part ex, hope mines not November!! I always thought this might happen. I'm sure the amount of Cupra orders in July was higher than the previous 6 months, maybe they can't handle the amount of uk orders.

Rumours floating around on the net of facelift and new model name being announced 19th September, with production starting mid November. New model name being Cupra 300.

Revised front and back bumper.
New LED headlights - same as whats on the ateca
Revised interior with upgraded plastics/cloth etc.
Possibility 8" touch screen will be std.
4wd being made available on the ST only.

I was about to order the current cupra...but tempted to hold off just incase they do revise the engine output upto 300. My golf R goes back in November.

The leaked facelift has received universal hate on SEAT forums. I don't think it looks good at all.

The 290's are making over 300 from factory anyway, it's all marketing.

Don't expect any deals on the facelift, the deals are here just now to maximize output as people know there's a facelift coming so orders have dropped.

Do you have a link to a pic of the FL? Cheers

Hi All,

I've got two deals from two different dealers.

Cupra 290 Black 5 Door 10k Miles - Any colour. 7.2p (including VAT) for additional mileage as direct with VWFS.

1+23 @ £249 per month including VAT - £5,976 all in. 19.2% of ROTR (although it can be argued you can get big discounts between 10-15%).

1+23 @ £253.50 per month including VAT - £6,084 all in. 19.6% of ROTR.

OR

3+23 @ £234 per month including VAT (£702 deposit) - the same £6,084 all in price.

First option is the cheapest so just waiting to speak with them and to confirm.

I guess the lead time on these is now November?

Thanks, C.

280 to 290 was nothing more than a badge change for marketing and 300 will be the same I suspect.

The deals will be non existent on the facelift in terms of leasing and I'd even suspect a price increase due to normal facelift procedure and the euro to pound increase. With the current cars spec so high as standard I wouldn't be inclined to wait and pay a whole lot more for something almost unnoticeabley better if at all.

Also think I'd stick with another R if I wanted an ea888 with 4wd again. Coming away from haldex 4wd and gaining a diff and a tad more interaction is the draw of this car for me.

I got an update from Wessex today: "Finance documents in the post". Estimated date still showing as 15th October for me, I am preparing for November in reality though, as others have been delayed and I don't imagine mine is any sort of special case.

Stay tuned for more thrilling updates!

Had a phone call from the dealers number today, got all excited thinking it was about my car, conversation went like this:

"Hello Mr Jonwm, as a valued customer you may have received our invitation to the new car event this weekend at the dealership, you haven't replied?"
"yes I did get it thanks, I also replied stating I ordered a new Cupra last Month from you, thanks though"
Pause as he looks down his response list for that one........
"Ah ok, well why don't you come down anyway as you could win a prize on the raffle?"
"No thanks, can you tell me when my car will be here though as your on?"
"ermmm No sorry"

That's my riveting update for the day.....

Hi all,

Ordered my Cupra Black on the 2nd July, had no updates from the dealers at all but got a call on Saturday saying I should expect delivery mid September??

Fingers crossed.

I asked for a build calendar update but he couldn't give me one. He said that Seat don't have one?? Sounds a bit strange??

At least you got a call from the dealer, my updates have only come from Seat direct, build week of 37 is confirmed now which they have translated to mid October delivery.

If you've got your seat order number beginning 2xxxxx they will update status, similar to the VW website tracker.
