The Cupra (Black) Lease thread
Discussion
Looks like ACC is now standard from those photos, as per the Golf R.
I must say I love the seats in the SEAT - so much better than the R for my large body frame!!
I posted back in December that the ST will be in both 2wd and 4wd derivatives - nobody believed me!!
I reckon the 4wd will handle a map to 380bhp quite nicely...wonder if I can order one for delivery in 18 months.

Nope, misleading configurator images. ACC is an option, albeit a fairly cheap £150 one.I must say I love the seats in the SEAT - so much better than the R for my large body frame!!

So I finally picked up the motor on 5th January, sadly not been out in it too much. First impressions are very positive. Love the car the in fact. Obviously with the crap weather we've been having I haven't been able to experience the full handling and grip capabilities, but it sure does feel very planted and I like the smooth power delivery. Having come out of an Alpina D3 (mono-turbo variety) which had bags of torque but a narrow power band it's nice to be able to mash the throttle and power through the rev range. Despite what others have said on here, I quite like the Cupra "noise". Sounds almost Quattro-esque, but to be fair I have come out of running diesels for the last few years, so maybe anything not powered by the fuel of satan is going to sound good to me!
The only issue I seem to have is a very annoying wind noise coming from the top of the drivers door right by my ear. Has any one else experienced this? I did a quick internet search and found that this has effected other Leon's. It only does it above 50 / 60 miles per hours. The fix appears to "lean on the door with some force"... Not sure that sounds right to me???
I have the same wind-noise issue. At the moment im still trying to live with it, as dont really trust the dealers not to make it worse. The only issue I seem to have is a very annoying wind noise coming from the top of the drivers door right by my ear. Seat Uk Customer Service confirmed yesterday that Silver is a no cost option. Waiting for decent lease deals on Cupra 300 5dr dsg hatch once Seat Website gets fully up and running for facelift. Audi uk took ages for facelift A3 website to be realistic and accurate. I was officially also given wrong advice for seat spec, manual tilt on seat base carried over, Audi customer services informed me deleted! Was not amused.
Pure assumption on my part but...
The only official deal i've seen for the facelift so far was £289pm for a manual 5dr hatch from Warrington Seat.
So reverse engineering a price from that point based on what DSG and estate added to the deals most of us went for an AWD 300ST will possibly be about £320 - £350pm
Pointless assumption post.

Warrington Seat dealer doing a cracking deal on the new Cupra 300.
£285/m on a 1+35

It's not particularly great value in comparison to the 290 deals though is it? If it was a 2 years term at this price then it would be a much better proposition.£285/m on a 1+35

This works out at a few hundred quid over 10k for the whole term, which is substantially more than what was being offered on the 290.

I really like the new wheels! I have never been a massive fan of the BE wheels personally. So my fear of the Cupra has happened... I worked late last night and my Mrs picked me up from the office, she drove as it was easier for me to just jump in the passenger seat. The car has done about 1,000 and she did quite a few yesterday. Normally when we are together I drive.
She announced that she hates the car because it's not as smooth as the previous M135i (Auto) whilst the Cupra is manual... The gear change is a bit notchy and she seems to have a problem driving it smoothly.
Oh well - you're stuck with it for 2 years love so you better get used to changing gear. Women!
Any tips on how i can teach her to change gear smoothly without me ending up in the spare room?!

You've changed her from driving an automatic BMW to a manual Seat.
What did you expect to happen? Are women new to you?
Ha ha. Seemingly so! She does drive other manual cars too so thought it would be fine! What did you expect to happen? Are women new to you?
I prefer the Cupra though... and wanted a manual. The slush box was boring.

When getting out of this cupra, if there's similar deals on, I know exactly what brand I'll be staying with.
Ditto - the car has a few annoyances (tyre noise, lack of side skirts as standard, dated satnav) but overall I think it is brilliant. I didn't expect it to be quite so good.My previous 3 cars were;
Fiesta ST (Mountuned) - superb but just a bit too small and lacking toys
BMW M235i - lovely engine, gearbox and Satnav, but handling just doesn't cut it. Wobbly, no confidence.
BMW F10 M5 - Epic, but not enough fun other than "woooooaaahh", and I'm now on an economy drive
The Cupra is just about perfect for me and if the deals like these are still around in 2 years, I will stick with them.

The gear change aren't smooth because of the clutch delay valve like in the manual Golf R. She announced that she hates the car because it's not as smooth as the previous M135i (Auto) whilst the Cupra is manual... The gear change is a bit notchy and she seems to have a problem driving it smoothly.

The n55 engine in the m135i is incredibly smooth and the zf8 box also very smooth so it's no wonder your good lady is finding it a bit rough.
On the flip side. I agree with you about preferring the drive in the cupra. As MOBB said, I also found the handling and especially the steering in the m135i scarily crap.
I'm really enjoying how much the cupra likes the corners. It's definitely better than the golf r in that regard.
