I've test driven a 280. Only had about 30 minutes in it, but just from that time I knew it was a great car. 290 black is a touch different so looking forward to having it for 2 years moving forward! Just wish I was getting mine soon but based on what I've read, it's likely to be end of November, if not December.
......Also, I still haven't seen one on the road. They're ultra rare, certainly around where I am from. I do see a lot of Golf R's (probably because of the amazing lease deals 2 years ago), so perhaps we'll see less Golf R's and many more Cupra's when all our lease cars get delivered!

I ordered my Golf R blind. Turned out well.
I had looked at the Cupra at a dealership before ordering but hadn't driven one. Figured it would be more of the same (just a 2wd Golf R) so ordered it blind as well. Since spent a bit of time in one and it pretty much is a as I expected. Few more scratchy plastics in the centre console than i would ideally want but at this price I'm not grumbling. I'm looking forward to playing with the bits this car has that my R doesn't. The main 2 being DSG and DCC. It'll also be interesting to see if Cupra mode is more aggressive than Race mode in the Golf. I also compared the Golf to an S3 and the dynamic mode in it didn't feel anywhere near as focussed as Race mode in the Golf.

Was going down the route of a Golf R estate but the deal I got from Seat Peterborough is saving me £2400 over the 2 year so it was a now brainer to go for the Cupra Black. Gone for Dynamic Grey 5dr Manual... Just counting down the days

I ordered mine 2 weeks ago through central and am yet to hear about a build week....

Hi mate, I ordered mine about three weeks ago. Originally it was a black edition which would have come later but there was some cock up and they couldn't secure a black 3-door so the dealer offered me a standard 290 that was already in the build queue as I didn't want a 5 door.I ordered mine 2 weeks ago through central and am yet to hear about a build week....

Ah right, not a bad result in the end then. Central said about 10-12 weeks from order so I reckon I'm looking at end of Nov early Dec delivery.Have central confirmed you've definitely got one?
I assume so, they have taken the admin fee and said they would update in due course. I bloody hope I have a slot! I would be gutted if I don't!
