The Cupra (Black) Lease thread
Discussion
CEO or anyone high up in the dealer network (I believe Seat Liverpool is Johnsons) is possibly a better route than going to Seat UK as the manufacturers have little control or interest (in my experience) in what the independent resellers are doing. They are a completely separate company.
If i'm getting this right then you are saying the sales manager requested a higher deposit, therefor he must have had some knowledge of the deal being offered. It seems the whole issue is the dealership and their mismanagement. I don't agree with them blaming the "dodgy" salesman, as with any business there is a chain of command in a dealership so his line manager should have been supervising and approving what this guy was offering people. Someone has to sign these things off in a dealership so it seems to me someone, who is still at the dealership knew about the offer, agreed it and is now denying all knowledge and blaming this salesman.
I'd go through the chain of command in the dealership and also start harassing the dealership/network on twitter, Facebook etc. Might also be an idea to start a thread on seatcupra.net about the issue as some their might have used that dealership (There's a no naming and shaming rule on ph) so may be able to offer advice or contacts. It also gives you a public platform that can force the dealership into a damage limitation scenario in terms of the publicity.

Agree with everything but this. Manufacturers are indeed VERY interested in what the dealerships carrying their name are doing.imdeman87 said:

They have offered me my deposit back, so that's not an issue. Would much rather have the car to be honest.
If you want the car (don't blame you - such a good deal), then take it straight to the top. Stop faffing about with the dealership, they clearly aren't going to help. If they're incompetent enough to hire a 'dodgy' salesman (who knows what they were up to), then they'll probably deal with your problem in an incompetent manner.Richard Harrison is Seat UK's CEO. His email address is: richard.harrison@seatcars.co.uk
Write a detailed, yet succinct, email to him explaining everything. Provide any form of proof that you have as an attachment to your email. If you made a verbal contract on £x per month on a 3+23 term then that's still ok (make sure you quote the correct amount, no hazy figures). Provide dates of events where possible.
The fact that you paid a £250 deposit shows that a deal was made. And if the CEO's complaints team investigate properly, then they'll see that VWFS were offering a deal similar to yours on PCH. Why should it be your fault that the delaership didn't/don't vet their employees? Also, use the fact that there was a significant delay in informing you about this problem, I can understand if they informed you a week after you went to the dealership, but to leave it 2+ months is beyond a joke.
Bottom line is, you went to the dealership, had a play with some numbers, agreed to a deal, put a deposit down expecting a car to be delivered at the price you agreed on. If the dealership are increasing the price 2 months after you placed the order, then tough poop, they can subsidise the cost.
Good luck and let us know how it goes.
Do you know if any of the finance had been already put in place? I know on mine I had a credit check from VW Finance very early on.

That's what I thought, you usually get credit checked and finance agreed before the car is even built. This is one of the questions I have asked in my email.
What may really be worth while doing is phoning the leasing companies that were offering the cars; Wessex, CVL etc and the dealerships that were too (they're all mentioned on this thread) and explain your situation. I'll bet you one of them will have a cancelled order in their books somewhere that's being built.SAINTDP said:

You could sign up to Experian Credit Expert to see your credit searches.. it's free for a month and then you can cancel if you want. If they did a search in July it will be on there.- guess who I work for ;-)
Hi chaps,
I received an update from Carly @ Lookers Stockport:
I still haven’t received any updates on any of my ‘Status 00’ orders, so I emailed SEAT Dealer Support yesterday with my 15 order numbers asking for an update on them all, as they advised me last week to contact them again if I hadn’t received anything by early this week.
SEAT Dealer Support did respond to my email later on yesterday to advise that my email has been forwarded onto the SEAT Supply Manager, and as soon as they have received the update they are going to forward that onto me. (So still no real update for me and the 15 others!)
No cars have actually arrived with me yet so the only thing I can report on is the Order Date, Confirmed Build Week & Estimated Time of Arrival here. (I was asking about general lead time from order to build to delivery.)
Here are a few examples:
Customer Name Order Date Confirmed Build Week ETA Here Overall Lead Time
Mr G 12/07/16 w/c 12/09/16 w/c 10/10/16 13 Weeks
Miss M 20/07/16 w/c/ 19/09/16 w/c 17/10/16 13 Weeks
Mr L 05/08/16 w/c 05/09/16 w/c 03/10/16 9 Weeks (This order was a ‘stock’ car at ‘Status 10’ when the order was placed)
Customers who placed their orders with me in July were given an estimated lead time of 15-16 weeks (info from SEAT Production & Supply).
Customers who placed their orders with me from August – Last Thursday were given an estimated lead time of 14 weeks (info from SEAT Production & Supply).
Anyone can ring SEAT Customer Services and ask what is going on - this is also a reason why I always give my customers their order numbers, so that they are free to enquire with SEAT about their order.
From reading Pistonheads I have noticed that people who have seemed to have ordered via CVL and other leasing places/sites aren’t being given many updates – just going off what they are saying. A few of them were also asking in some posts about what the ‘Status’ updates mean and that they haven’t been given this information. I don’t think its standard to give a ‘status’ update however due to me being thorough with everything I like to let people know
So if you wanna let people know what they are, it’s this:
Status 00 - Order Accepted, Without Production Week
Status 10 – With Production Week (this is the one where the build week isn’t guaranteed and can change)
Status 20 – With Production Order (this is where the build week is confirmed and guaranteed to be built in that week)
Status 30 – In Transit from Factory (Car been built, left the factory and on its way to the UK Port)
Status 40 – UK Port
Status 60 – In Transit to Dealer
Status 70 – At Dealer
With regards to your order, you placed yours on the 24th August. An estimated 14 Week lead time would mean that you should receive your car from w/c 28th November.
Hope this helps, C.

I ordered through CVL and have just had my VW finance documents through. The car was built week 37.
I'm sure all of these cars will get built eventually.
On it it says to send a cheque for the initial deposit (2.4k in my case), does this seem normal?.. as it was supposed to be 3k then £600 cashbook.

If Lookers outstanding status 00 orders take much longer to change to status 10, we may end up with MY17 cars - here's hoping!
Does anyone know when the MY17 is first scheduled for factory production?
David
Im not surprised they are struggling to confirm, guess its a bit of a shock to their supply chain to have so many Cupras ordered in a short space of time.Does anyone know when the MY17 is first scheduled for factory production?

I wonder what the situation would be if they dont physically have enough cupra parts to fulfill all th orders.. Apparently the standard (non black) cupra suffered delays due to availability issues with the wheels.

They actually stopped offering non-Black versions a couple of months ago due to the wheel supply. not that their website says that!I wonder what the situation would be if they dont physically have enough cupra parts to fulfill all th orders.. I was told by CVL
u would be sent the £600 payment once car is delivered, then the £2900 would be taken 2 weeks after car was delivered.
I've checked and yes you have to send a cheque for the initial advanced rental. This is a bit different from what I thought but hey ho!u would be sent the £600 payment once car is delivered, then the £2900 would be taken 2 weeks after car was delivered.
Worth knowing if you've ordered through CVL as it could be the same. (and obviously have the money in your bank account before you've got the car)
