Quick update on my situation.

The stealer has now come back to me after my email to the CEO and they will honour my negotiated price of £225 per month.

Happy this is now over and looking forward to delivery now :-)
Brilliant result. Glad it all worked out well for you.

Awesome and yes don't forget to post lots of pictures!!

I said earlier on in this thread that I've not seen even 1 Cupra on the road; however, all that changed yesterday! I saw my first Cupra although I wasn't sure if it was a 280 or 290 - it definitely wasn't a Cupra black. Are the wheels different on a normal 280 compared to the 290? If not, then I'm not sure how to tell them apart, except for the small 280/280 badge.

But anyway, it looked awesome and the Mrs approved as well, although she did say I can use her car and she can use the Cupra. :-(

Thanks, C.

Happy days, as creator of this thread SEAT should have delivered mine first biggrin

Out of interest what was the build week and order date?
I ordered on 7th of July and was given a build week of 37. Ordered an ST in Alor blue.
Exactly the same as my dates, hopefully mine wont be long after this.

Just ordered a 5 door in Dynamic Grey from a local dealer. Nothing to put down then 23 payments of £257 per month, 10k miles a year, mid December delivery.

I'm terminating my Pug 208 GTI a few months early to get this deal, think it'll be worth it :-)

Which dealer please mate?

So maybe it's not too late after all? I tried on the last day but had left it too late before the order book closed.

Really want an ST though. If anybody knows of any please let me know.

Cheers

I am week 42 build, I hope mine turns up sooner than anticipated too!

I have not seen ONE Cupra on the streets of Manchester. Really can't wait to get mine now.

SEAT Pulmans at Sunderland, think they have 1 left in Monsoon Grey. They ordered a couple of extra Cupra's before the order books closed knowing that they would be able to shift them easily enough.

Does the 290 look much different to the ST? I have seen a few of the latter about, and there is a 280 Cupra and an ST in my work car park. I only really clocked the difference by looking at the badges. I seem to remember the 290 also looking nicely under-the-radar rather than in-yer-face.

I chased Wessex by phone last week about my order, the guy said he wouldn't normally hear anything until the dealer had it ready for delivery, I explained that I had a car to sell before then and he promised to ring me back. Guess what? He hasn't.

You've lost me I'm afraid...the ST is a Cupra 290. The ST is an estate car, so is longer than the standard 3dr/5dr.

The Cupra 290 comes in 3 guises - SC (3dr), hatch (5dr) and ST (estate).

Do you mean difference between the 280 and 290? Rather than 290 and ST?

I said ST, when I meant FR I think. The "warm" version.

Yeah FR is just below the Cupra trim.

Off the top of my head, smaller alloys (I think 17"), different exhaust, no front parking sensors, no nav. There's probably many more that I've forgotten.

The new FR spec has taken a drop from the previous. All be it, I'm driving an FR+ mark 2, the toys and kit it has in it is miles above the current FR spec. I'm interested to see how the LEDs of the cupra match up against the xenon's in the FR+; as they're the best headlights I've ever had.

Couldn't agree more on the ,FR+ lights, best I've ever had, apart from the fogs coming on all the time and then being on quite early, love the alignment they do when first switched on

I emailed Wessex (CVL) to chase my order. Got a response within a couple of hours, they say Seat are not able to give any definitive dates for specific cars, but they expect to have fulfilled all orders by the end of November.

Not especially helpful!

The LEDs don't seem to have a very good reputation, which is a bit of a worry living up in Scotland where it's pretty much dark and raining from October to March.
