VWFS have been doing flash sales like this since early 2014 with the original Golf R deal. I've heard lots of theories about creating a healthy used car market by getting all the stock back and drip feeding it out to theories about keeping factories running at full volume for minimal profit during quiet spells. Who knows.

In terms of the Black edition over the normal cupra. The BE including the seats sold it for me, those seats just sold me after 18 months of the lousy Golf R seats. Neither wheel style is to my tastes, I generally don't like diamond cut wheels just as a preference and the hassle of repair. However, as VWFS only charge £36 per damaged wheel on return i couldn't really care less. If the wheels bothered me that much i'd probably buy an after market set, run those and then just swap back to the originals and sell the others on after the car goes back.

I've got a Cupra Black on order (can't wait), but was a little bit concerned about the diamond cut alloys and problems refurbishing with these. £36 per damaged wheel seems cheap - is that based on past experience and was that for a VW group car with diamond cut alloys?

Quite interested in this too, my wife has a good track record of ruining wheels

Yes, that's from my current experience on a VWFS agreement on a Golf R. I received an itemised list of common repairs with indicative costs direct from VWFS. It seems everyone receives the same letter.

Prices are as follows:
Dents not requiring repainting £36
Body panel damage requiring repaint £110
Spare key replacement £132
Alloy wheel damage (per wheel) £36
Full valet £27 - £60
Tyre damage £50 - £300
Incomplete or missing service history £400
Windscreen damage £65
Lost sat nav disc £300
Bumper damage £138

On a further note regarding VWFS. I received a letter from them requesting that i contact them with a mileage up date. My mileage is roughly half my 10k allowance on the contract. As a result they are reducing my monthly payment from £179.99 to £136.49 for the remainder of my lease. I love VWFS.

Just noticing the 'Incomplete or missing service history £400' bit. On a 24 month lease, do they expect us to service it twice?

Judging by the discussion on the main PH leasing deal forum it seems the general consensus is do your first service as late as possible (normally you have about a months leeway) so that when you come to hand the car back at 24m it is not yet due hence history is complete!

Based on our contracted 5k miles the cars will probably beg for 2 services. The services are pretty cheap so it's not a massive issue. My first service cost £134 and included them collecting and returning the car. Second service is only a little over £200.

You can always return the car early to save doing a second service and possibly a few tyres. This is what I'm doing with the golf. The Cupra is set to be delivered 3 months before the golf is due to return. Early termination costs 55% of remaining payments. So I'll make 1.5 months payments and avoid paying for the other 1.5 months + 2 tyres + the second service. How's that for man maths?

Love man maths like that, my life runs on a man maths excel sheet :-)

Quick update for me (and others ordering from CVL)
I called yesterday to chase not having my admin fee taken after a week and a half.
However they assure me that the car is definitely on order as soon as the signed paperwork is received so i have nothing to fear.
The files are passed from the Sales team to accounts before they get to the admin team (who take the payment and send out the invoice) however the accounts team are a bit behind at mo.
Then they aim to provide an update every 3-4 weeks until 2 weeks before the car is due to land.

Guess its time to wait and see!!
(oh and apologies for the posts on this.... im a leasing n00b and am not used to the general lack of fanfare and excitement around getting a car this way lol)

No bother NeoVR, doubt anyone minds the questions. It's only the people who ask basic questions that have already been answered in the main long running lease deal thread that do everyone's head in. I've seen the same guy ask the same basic questions on 3 forums now. Absolute tool of a guy.

So did you post the signed finance/order off to them? I downloaded the form added my signature, re saved and emailed back so that might be why mine went through so quick.

Getting a new car through this process is a bit of a slow burner. Massive excitement when you order, then nothing happens for ages, then you get told the car is built or at the dealers and it's suddenly massive excitement again. It'll be interesting to see how these cars are delivered. I got lucky last time as the supplying dealer arranged a low loader to drop at my house for no charge.

I signed, scanned and emailed back the order form.. and shortly after called up to provide card details for the admin fee.

When the time comes ill probably ask if i can collect the car if i can - nowt wrong with a little road-trip wink
The car may be provided by JCB in ashford - they seem to be the biggest Seat dealer in the country - they supply DtD etc and no other dealer could get close when i was looking for a Ibiza Cupra.

I will be looking to go and collect mine if poss too, the further away the dealer the better! When I leased the Leon Fr+ I had a few years back it was delivered on a low loader and came with a set of mats and a dash of fuel so I was well happy, that one came from Gilder Seat but I think they have given up the Seat franchise now. If anyone gets any info on which dealer is supplying the cars please post it up (though I realise it may not just be a single dealer)

I must admit my first personal lease and I'm a bit underwhelmed, not had any correspondence from anyone since I went in and signed, with my company cars I love the build up as you get emails at least once a week with a status update.

My last 2 cars (company) have been on low loaders, 1 with 7 miles on the other with 12, nothing better!

I'm picking mine up from the dealer so will hopefully have less than 10 on!!

Part of the problem with weekly or bi weekly updates with any VAG car is how long their lead time is. Last time I ordered a BMW there was a significant bit of news every week, delivery took 5 weeks from order.

With my golf it was a case of nothing for a month, then a build slot was allocated, then 3 months later they built the bloody thing in a day and before I knew it it was at the dealers.

My FR was driven to me (134 miles) and there was no choice of collection. However, I had nothing to fear as the gentleman who delivered it was well presented (tie), polite and had been careful with the car. He had also used tracking software to show average speed, maximum acceleration etc on his journey.

I've got to say my experience through CVL has left a lot to be desired so far. I sourced my last lease deal through gateway2lease and (aside from their crap new website) were excellent in keeping me updated on the process and mapped out what happens next.

CVL however have left me in the dark since I signed their order/finance form. I have had to chase several time to be told the same story as the other poster (dont worry, accounts will pass it to the admin team etc). I wasn't particularly impressed by their push of gap insurance either (stating it was an FCA obligation to have offer it and sign as such, it isn't).

All shall be forgiven when I have confirmation from VWFS or whoever that it is actually all in hand
