Have all you guys who had mileage excess increases been successful in having them lowered as per the initial agreement?
Last I heard from CVL is that DM Keith were meeting with the funders this morning to try and resolve the excess mileage issue. I gather there's quite a large number of orders affected. I was a build week 38 but no idea if the car has landed either.

Damn this isn't good, but I suppose car theft is something that goes on regardless. All we can do is prepare ourselves as best as possible.

This talk of GAP insurance, can someone please aware me of why people buy this sort of cover? I think it's something to do with covering the deposit you have put down (whereas I'm on a 1+23 @ £249) but is there more to it than that? Thanks in advance!

Thanks, C.
Have a read of this, should help

Just had a call from DM Keith who advised vwfs have increased milage charges early this month so seems like they have increased it across the board,
They are having words with vwfs Milton Keynes , so they should have it sorted tomorrow..

Fingers crossed it gets sorted swiftly, whilst the difference is small if a figure has been agreed it should be stuck to.

You just don't need the initial cover, I opted for 15k cover with 2k initial, 131 for the 2 years

Indeed, that was the deal we placed the order for the car with and it should be honoured

I wouldn't bother, I looked at the prices and it was really expensive, the end of life costs are quite small apparently from VW finance, Wheels damaged £50, Bumper resprays £150, im sure there is a post on the leasing thread or the Golf R thread where a guy detailed the costs for the damage, it looked cheaper than getting them repaired yourself.

I have got GAP though should it vanish in the night
I posted the full VWFS damage charge matrix on this thread somewhere within the first few pages. A wheel repair is £36. All prices are very reasonable. I wouldn't waste money insuring everything.

Also, for those who have ordered Monsoon Grey, Carly is going to video the car for us in that colour so I'll post that when I've received it

Thanks, C.
My 5 door Monsoon Grey is due in any day so maybe it will be mine in the video biggrin

Hopefully not mine on the test drive though!

Hi Hogey,

It could very well be yours buddy - I can see the reg on the video so if you know your own reg, then I'll be able to confirm. Carly has said not to post it on here or on social media because it does show the registration so I won't. It looks fantastic on the video and no doubt even better in the flesh.

This one (together with about 5 others, including an Alor Blue which you can see on the video) is at Lookers now so if yours is due in any day then perhaps this one is not?

Also, she said that nobody can test drive these cars. They have a 280 for that which I've already driven.

Whoever's it is, I'm very jealous as mine isn't due for another 8 weeks!

Found it, thanks that is very useful.

I am going to sign my finance documents today so I will keep those costs in mind as they will try and sell me various insurances.

Anyone had any updates from CVL today about what's going on with VWFS updating the contracts to reflect the correct excess mileage charge?
My car is sitting at DM Keiths and I've not a clue about when I'm going to be getting it yet!!

It'll be interesting to know what the 'suprise' will be with the 2017 Cupra. Who's guessing 4x4, mechanical LSD or a 5 cylinder engine or a combination of? Not sure what they can really do, do you?

Something to consider in a couple of years time for sure. biggrin

You won't see that press car again either seeing as it was stolen from Tom Ford's (Topgear/5th Gear chap) drive yesterday morning. Thieves broke in whilst he and his family was asleep and nabbed the keys. I'm assuming he was targeted due to his motor journo connotations...

Hi Chris, I have had mine now for nearly 2 weeks so far all good.

Coming from a 1.4 Clio to the beast obviously feels different but the power and ease to go fast is scary!!! and effortless.

Have got a few pics that I will try to upload.

One thing that annoys me is the drink holder gets in the way when changing gear (Not a problem for you with DSG) and also the sound of the parking sensors are really annoying, so need to find a way to turn it down.

Not the most technical review I know but so far I am loving it!!!!

I've heard nowt Rob. I presume mine is close to DM Keith's, if not already there. I'm week 38 and some other lads on week 38 have already had theirs I think.

I was going to call them for an update but haven't had time.

Anyone else heard from CVL/DM Keith?
